On 9th October 2013, Tropicana PokerFest’s Main Event debuted in Budapest. Hungarian players, Romanian, and not only, came to the game tables, with a field of 175 players. The buy-in of this tournament was of no less than € 1,000, totalizing a prize pool of € 157,000. The location of the tournament was Tropicana Casino. The structure of the tournament was one that imposed a stack of 30,000 chips, even from the outset, with blinds that started from the 50/100 level, each level lasting 60 minutes. The late registration period lasted for 6 levels, with each player having the right to re-entry in the event, in case of a premature elimination. In addition, there was also the option for a re-entry during day 1B.

Day 1A debuted in a cautious pace, with only 12 eliminations after seven levels of play, but this pace was not maintained until to the end, so that the last two hours brought with them a multitude of elimination, and after nine levels of play, the ending found only 41 participants at the tables.

At that point, the leader of the tournament was Vlad Darie with 165,500 chips, none other than the winner of the PokerFest Mamaia stage, held in September. The Hungarian players Lukács Bulcsú (151,800) and Nándor Blaskó (150.600) were following Darie in respect of number of chips, after day 1A.

Day 1B brought no less than 92 players at the game tables, which made Main Event of the Tropicana PokerFest stage a successful one even beyond the Romanian borders.

After nine levels disputed during this day 1B, a number of 46 players qualified to the next day and Attila Ispán was the leader of day 1B, with 146,000 chips. In general, after combining the lots of day 1A with the ones of day 1B, Vlad Darie was occupying the first place with 165,500 chips, at least until the start of day 2.

Among the Romanians who qualified at the top of the classification we also found Marius Câmpan (72,000 chips) and Joseph Bahrami (63.600 chips), both from Cluj.

The Israeli Noam Cohen, ex vice-Champion of PokerFest Bucharest, May, 2013, had a number of 43.800 chips and from the Hungarian stars present in the Main Event we descovered Richard Toth (27,100 chips), a player with over 1,5 million dollars earned in live tournaments throughout his career.

The onset of the second day was extremely spectacular, being marked by a lot of eliminations, a period of lull, with a waiting game and a final tense part, in which the participants waited and invited one another to get into the bubble.

Eventually, the money wining came around ten o’clock in the evening, which brought the end of the day, with remaining 18 players.

At that time Raviv Idan with 821,000 chips was on the first place, followed by half of blind by Noam Cohen with 818,000 chips. Both players Israeli players seized the Main Event of Tropicana PokerFest, especially if we notice that Lax Mátyás, third ranked, lies at a distance of the two, with 666,000 chips and Christopher Pace (487,000) and Zab Attila (312,000) completed the top five with stacks half as big as the ones owned by the top players.

Cohen was the one that removed Vlad Darie from the tournament, the Romanian who the previous day entered into the tournament as leader.

The last eliminated Romanian left the game in the bubble, when Iosif Botar, short-stacked, forced all-in cu , but got tricked by Boros Matyas Zoltan with . The table came  and Botar finished the Main Event right before entering the money.  

With the bubble elimination day two was completed and the tour continued the next day with the last 18 players left in the game.

The third day began with 18 players, exactly the number of places awarded. The two leaders Idan Raviv and Noam Cohen were close to equality, and the game was fast since the beginning, eliminations came right away and the official final table formula was reached in less than three hours.

As the latter part of the tournament arrived, Raviv lost his big lead and came to a relative but constant equality with his opponents, while Noam Cohen was eliminated in fifth place, leaving room for negotiations regarding the re-sharing of the prize pool.

In the following minutes, after an exact count of chips, an agreement was reached, leaving players to contend for 5,000 Euros and the champion trophy. The player who came in 4th place was Dino Marsani and the remaining three had an idea for the end of the game: to go all-in all three in the same hand, to expose a single card, but in the end, the best hand to win.

PokerFest Tropicana Main Event took place in Hungary, Budapest, and in the end it was won by Vaczó András, a young Hungarian that had entered the third and last day of the game with an average stack of 258,000 chips, but which has managed to recover his disadvantage becoming the champion of the first PokerFest festival played beyond Romanian borders.

The flop, turn and river came with , Vaczo had a king facing up and the others already knew they lost. Varadi showed , he was defeated, Raviv had even less chances with , and Vaczo signed the end of the tournament with .

Jucători maghiari, jucători români, și nu numai, s-au regăsit la mesele de joc, totalizând, un field de 175 de jucători. Buyin-ul acestui turneu a fost de nu mai puțin de 1000€, totalizându-se un fond de premii de 157,000€. Locația unde s-a desfășurat turneul a fost Tropicana Casino. Structura turneului a fost una care a presupus încă de la început un stack de 30,000 de fise, blinduri ce au pornit de la nivelul 50/100, fiecare nivel având o durată de 60 de minute. Perioada late registration a durat 6 niveluri, fiecare jucător având dreptul la un re-entry în cazul unei eliminări premature din joc. De asemenea, a existat și opțiunea pentru un re-entry în ziua 1B.

Ziua 1A a debutat într-un ritm precaut, după șapte nivele fiind contabilizate doar 12 eliminări, dar ritmul nu s-a menținut așa până la final, astfel că ultimele două ore au venit cu o multitudine de plecări din turneu, iar finalul, după nouă niveluri, a venit prinzând la mese doar 41 de participanți.

În acel moment, liderul turneului era Vlad Darie cu 165.500 fise, nimeni altul decât câștigătorul etapei PokerFest Mamaia din septembrie. În urma lui Darie ca și număr de fise, după ziua 1A, se aflau jucătorii maghiari Lukács Bulcsú (151.800) și Blaskó Nándor (150.600).

Ziua 1B a adus la mese nu mai puțin de 92 de jucători, număr care a făcut ca etapa PokerFest Tropicana Main Event să fie o experiență reușită în afara granițelor României.

După nouă niveluri disputate, în cadrul acestei zile 1B, s-au calificat mai departe 46 de jucători, Ispán Attila fiind liderul din 1B cu 146.000 de fise. La general, după combinarea loturilor din zilele 1A cu 1B, îl așeza pe Vlad Darie cu 165.500 de cipsuri în poziția de ocupant al primului loc, cel puțin până la startul zilei 2.

Printre românii calificați mai departe în partea superioară a clasamentului se regăseau și clujenii Marius Câmpan (72.000 fise) și Iosif Botar (63.600 fise).

Israelianul Noam Cohen, fost vicecampion PokerFest București în mai 2013, avea 43.800 de jetoane, iar dintre vedetele maghiare prezente în Main Event îl regăsim pe Richard Toth (27.100 fise), jucător cu peste 1.5 milioane de dolari câștigați în turnee live de-a lungul carierei.

Debutul celei de a doua zile a fost extrem de spectaculos, fiind marcat de multe eliminări, o perioadă de acalmie, cu un joc de așteptare și o ultimă parte tensionată, în care participanții au stat în expectativă și s-au invitat unul pe altul să iasă în bubble.

În cele din urmă, intrarea în bani s-a produs în jur de ora zece seara, moment care a adus și finalul zilei secunde, în joc rămânând 18 jucători.

În frunte se afla în acel moment Idan Raviv cu 821.000 de fise, urmat la jumătate de blind în spate de Noam Cohen cu 818.000 de jetoane. Ambii jucători de origine iraeliană au pus stăpânire pe Main Eventul Tropicana PokerFest, mai ales dacă ne uităm că Boros Mátyás, al treilea clasat, se afla la distanță de cei doi, cu 666.000 de cipsuri, iar Váradi Péter (487.000) și Zab Attila (312.000) completau un top 5 cu stackuri la jumătate cât ale celor din față.

Cohen a fost cel care l-a eliminat din turneu inclusiv pe Vlad Darie, românul care intrase în turneu în ziua precedentă din postura de lider.

Ultimul român eliminat a picat chiar în bubble, când Iosif Botar, short-stack, a forțat un all-in cu , dar a fost plătit de Boros Matyas Zoltan cu . Pe masă a venit  și Botar a terminat Main Eventul chiar înaintea intrării în bani.

Odată cu ieșirea în bubble, ziua a doua s-a definitivat și turneul a continuat în ziua următoare cu ultimii 18 jucători aflați în joc.

Ziua a treia începuse cu 18 playeri, atâția câte locuri premiate erau. Primii doi lideri aflați aproape la egalitate erau Idan Raviv și Noam Cohen și încă de la start, jocul a fost unul rapid, eliminările nu s-au lăsat așteptate, iar în nici trei ore, s-a ajuns la formula mesei finale oficiale.

Pe măsură ce s-a ajuns în ultima parte a turneului, Raviv și-a pierdut avansul considerabil și a rămas la o egalitate relativă dar constantă cu adversarii, în timp ce Noam Cohen a fost eliminat pe locul cinci, lăsând loc negocierilor pentru reîmpărțirea fondului de premii.

În următoarele minute, după o numărătoare exactă a fiselor, s-a ajuns la o înțelegere, rămânând ca jucătorii să se lupte pentru 5.000 de euro și trofeul de campion. Jucătorul care a ieșit pe locul 4 a fost Dino Marsani, iar ultimii trei rămași au avut o idee pentru finalul jocului: să intre all-in toți trei în aceeași mână, să își expună pe parcurs o singură carte, dar la final, să câștige mâna cea mai bună.

PokerFest Tropicana Main Event desfășurat în Ungaria, la Budapesta, a fost câștigat în cele din urmă de Vaczó András, un tânăr maghiar intrat în a treia și ultima zi de joc cu un stack mediocru, de 258.000 de fise, care însă a recuperat treptat dezavantajul și a devenit campion în primul festival PokerFest desfășurat în afara hotarelor României.

Flopul, turnul și riverul au venit , Vaczo avea expus un popă și ceilalți știau deja că sunt bătuți. Varadi a întors , era învins, Raviv era și mai slab cotat cu , iar Vaczo a semnat finalul turneului cu .
