Toys for Gamblers – THE MOST EXPENSIVE WINTER COATS IN THE WORLD

Tuesday, 22 February 2022

In this edition we have made a selection of winter coats that can cost you spectacular prices, but which, at the same time, can make you feel cool and fashionable.

Canada Goose Langford Parka (1,275$)

Canada Goose Langford Parka

At the top of our winter jacket selection is Canada Goose, a Toronto-based company. These jackets are extremely warm, well-built, and downright fashionable for those that want a sleek look. This parka offers the possibility of wearing it in two ways, let’s say, the Arctic and the urban one. With 625-fill duck down (it’s ironic that the company uses mostly duck down and not goose) and a thick and durable Arctic Tech shell, they claim that the Langford Parka can be worn down to a freezing -26°C. This is the company’s second-warmest tier of jacket, the first one being the famous Expedition Parka viable down to -31°C.

The Langford Parka is a staggering $1,275, even though Canada Goose doesn’t use premium down like Arc’teryx, for example. But Langford has a high degree of fluff filling (so it’s warmer) has extra insulation material, and if you appreciate its style, then Canada Goose winter coat may be the ideal choice.

Marmot West Rib Parka (599$)

Marmot West Rib Parka

Sliding on the West Rib Parka feels like wrapping up in a sleeping bag, and we mean that in the best way. It’s soft, cozy, stuffed with a ton of insulation, and outfitted with a deep hood. A layer of synthetic insulation tops square baffles packed with down on the coat’s lining. This construction, as opposed to traditional baffles, creates additional spaces—between the cubes—to trap air. This coat is warm and lightweight, and its generous pockets easily store gloves, keys, and a wallet (or some gear if you’re using this coat for hiking or skiing). In conclusion, it may be a recommendation for you, especially since the price is not so high.

Black Diamond Vision Down Parka (449$)

Black Diamond Vision Down Parka

Black Diamond emphasizes two things in the Vision Down Parka: the warmth and durability. The former is a given, but down jackets, particularly the lightweight, packable ones, are known for outer shells that are far from tear-resistant. So Black Diamond worked with a company in Japan to create a liquid crystal polymer coating that makes the Vision significantly more durable.

The coating works wonders for rock climbers scraping up against a granite, but it also comes in handy when you accidentally scuff up against a wall in town. Moreover, this Black Diamond coat is warm, really warm.

I hope our selections have helped you, and now all you have to do is prepare for the mountain trip.
