When saying Las Vegas you probably think of games, casinos, luxury, lights and fascination. But Vegas isn`t just a place for gambling. The capital of Nevada is known all over the world for its malls and commercial spaces for shopping.

This edition of Casino`s Secrets outlines the main and most impressive mall in Vegas, The Forum Shops, places inside Caesars Palace. The mall is property of Simon Property Group, world leader in operating and renting commercial spaces. History of The Forum Shops Mall

The mall was built in 1992 as in extended wing of the back then hotel and casino Caesars World. The idea was developed by Henry Gluck, executive director at Caesars World between 1983-1994. The mall was expanded in 2004 again, on the main boulevard in Vegas, on the Strip.

This mall isn`t just the biggest in Vegas, but the biggest in the United States, for its dimensions and also incomes, having even bigger incomes than Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, California. The mall hosts more than 270 luxury merchants, restaurants and bars.

The Forum Shops Mall

Meant to borrow the majesty of the old Roman Forum (now only made by ruins that can be visited in Rome), the place is known as wonderland for shoppers.

The Forum has also become a touristic attraction, a place you can`t miss once you are in Vegas. The luxury, opulence and design altogether make this place a real touristic spot. The Forum is places on the Strip, has 59,100 squares and 3 floors. Visiting the entire mall would take one day is not two.

The biggest commercial space in the United States offers a variety of famous boutiques of the most appreciated brands and fashion designers in the world like Valentino, Versace, Gucci, Armani, Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Burberry, ChristianLouboutin, Fendi, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Tifanny&CO and others.

The restaurants that offer their top services inside the mall are The Cheesecake Factory, Border Grill, Spago, Il Mulino New York,  Joe`s Seafood Prime Steak and Stone Crab –offering seafood, La Salsa Cantina offering mexican food, Sushi Roku, Trevi Italian Restaurant or Planet Hollywood.

The boutiques inside The Forum Mall are opened during the week from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Entertainment a la The Forum

This hyper commercial space also hosts the biggest private art gallery, Martin Lawrence Galleries, where there is a dedicated section for Andy Warhol – the main artist in Pop Art in the U.S.A.

Another interesting fact is that the top boutiques host some especially delivered from The Forum, as in exclusive products delivered on the market only here. The Burberry boutique hosts a special showroom inside the store. Here you can find speaking statues that seem real, a real big and impressive aquarium with exotic fishes and exclusive entertainment spaces, all surrounded by a special design under a ceiling that reveals the sky perfectly, fountains, spiral elevator and mosaic domes all inspired by the Ancient Rome style.

Walk in the Ancient Rome

The design won`t let you leave the mall without spending some money. From the entrance visitors are welcomed by Roman columns impressively designed and railings with antique statues representing Ancient philosophers and Roman army military figures.

The main attraction is for sure the floating ceiling, imitating the sky in a natural way, offering a special atmosphere. Showing plaster clouds, it brightens during the day and darkens during night, simulating daytimes, all thank to fluorescent lights.

The architecture plan inside shows a sun shape. Following the floor, you can observe a square in the middle where The Fountain of Gods is placed with music and lasers. From it four aisles with boutiques spread away, like sunrises, next to which there is another Roman square with a fountain.

Inside the mall there is a relaxing zone with Roman baths and spa, where you can relax like in ancient times, enjoying rituals from back then. The show offered by Atlantis waterfall is desired by everyone. It is a free show, a mix of sounds, lights, animations and pyrothechins that bring up the atmosphere of the mitical city Atlantis.

If you think of The Forum as a secondary entertainment environment in Vegas, after the famous casinos, you might be wrong. Malls in Vegas are the biggest concurrence for casinos, people spending lot of money here. But is 2000 years ago all roads went to Rome, nowadays in Vegas, all incomes end up in the same pocket – the ones of gambling corporations.

În această ediţie de Secretele Cazinourilor, vă facem cunoscut cel mai impresionant mall din Vegas, The Forum Shops, din incinta Caesars Palace. Mall-ul este proprietatea grupului Simon Property Group, lider mondial în operarea și închirierea de spaţii comerciale. Astfel, dacă unii turişti vin în Vegas special pentru a juca la cazinouri, unde lasă sume impresionante de bani, cei care câștigă la cazino se bucură de opulentele mall-uri, cum este The Forum Shops, unde veniturile sunt de 1.750$ pe metru pătrat pe zi!, sursă importantă de câștig pentru capitala luminilor. Istoria lui The Forum Shops Mall

Ideea a aparţinut lui Henry Gluck, director executiv al Caesars World în perioada 1983-1994. Mall-ul a fost extins ulterior, în 2004, către principalul bulevard din oraș, pe Strip.

Acest spațiu comercial nu este doar cel mai mare din Vegas, ci şi cel mai mare din Statele Unite, atât ca dimensiune cât şi ca încasări, înregistrând câştiguri pe metru pătrat mai mari decât întregul Rodeo Drive din Beverly Hills, California. Mall-ul găzduieşte peste 270 de comercianţi de lux, restaurante şi baruri.

Dorind să împrumute din măreția de odinioară a Forumului Roman (acum o ruină, și care poate fi vizitat la Roma) acest loc este cunoscut drept un spațiu de vis pentru împătimiții de shopping.

The Forum, a devenit pe lângă cel mai mare mall şi o atracţie turistică, un loc pe care nu îl poţi rata odată ajuns în Vegas. Opulenţa, luxul, arhitectura şi designul aparte fac din acest loc un adevărat obiectiv turistic. The Forum Shops Mall este situat pe Strip și are 59,100 de metri pătraţi şi este dispus pe 3 etaje. Vizitarea întregului mall v-ar putea răpi o zi întreagă, poate chiar două.

Cel mai mare spațiu comercial din Vegas și din Statele Unite oferă un portofoliu variat de magazine de renume unde se află cele mai apreciate branduri ale celor mai mari designeri de modă din lume ca Valentino, Versace, Gucci, Armani, Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Burberry, Christian Louboutin, Fendi, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Tifanny&CO și alții.

Între restaurantele care îşi oferă serviciile gastronomice de top în cadrul lui The Forum Shops se află The Cheesecake Factory, Border Grill, Spago, Il Mulino New York,  Joe`s Seafood Prime Steak and Stone Crab – cu specific marin, La Salsa Cantina cu specific mexican, Sushi Roku, Trevi Italian Restaurant sau Planet Hollywood.

Magazinele din incinta mall-ului sunt deschise în timpul săptămânii începând cu ora 10 și până la ora 23, iar în weekend de la 10 la 24.

Divertisment a la The Forum

Această mega-galerie comercială găzduieşte, de asemenea, și cea mai mare galerie de artă privată, Martin Lawrence Galleries, în cadrul căreia se află o secţiune destinată lucrărilor lui Andy Warhol – inițiator al curentului artistic Pop Art din Statele Unite.

Tourneau, Roman Times, Officine Panerai, Breitling si Hublot sunt câteva dintre colecţiile de ceasuri ce trebuie văzute aici.

O altă particularitate a mall-ului este prezenţa în majoritatea magazinelor de top a unor produse exclusiv distribuite în acest mall din Vegas, de negăsit în altă parte de lume. În acelaşi timp, buticul Burberry găzduieşte un showroom special în cadrul magazinului. Aici veţi întâlni statuete vorbitoare care par reale şi destind vizitatorii, un acvariu cu peşti exotici de dimensiuni impresionante şi spaţii de divertisment nemaiîntâlnite, toate în cadrul unui decor de lux, sub un tavan care imită perfect cerul, fântâni arteziene, lift spiralat şi cupole din mozaic, în stilul arhitectural al Romei Antice.

Plimbare prin Roma Antică

Decorul nu te va lăsa să pleci prea repede din mall fără să scoţi bani din buzunar. Încă de la intrare vizitatorii sunt întâmpinaţi de coloane romane sculptate deosebit şi balustrade pe care sunt amplasate statui ale filosofilor antici sau a personalităţilor militare din perioada Romei Antice.

Atracţia principală rămâne, cu siguranță, tavanul “plutitor”, imitând cerul într-un mod foarte natural, conferind o atmosferă plăcută incintei. Cu un design ce înfăţişează nori din ipsos, acesta se deschide pe timpul zilei şi se întunecă pe timpul nopţii, simulând perioadele zilei, totul fiind posibil datorită unor lămpi speciale, cu lumină fluorescentă.

Planul arhitectural al construcției spațiului comercial are forma unui soare. Urmărind podeaua, turiştii pot observa prezenţa unei mini-piaţete în mijloc, unde se află şi Fântâna Zeilor cu lasere, muzică şi efecte sonore, de unde pornesc patru alei cu magazine, ca nişte spiţe, alături de care vine o a doua piaţetă romană cu o altă fântână romană în mijloc.

Mall-ul deţine o zonă de relaxare cu băi romane şi spa, unde vă puteţi relaxa ca în antichitate, conform ritualurilor de atunci. Show-ul oferit de cascada Atlantis este căutat de toată lumea. Acesta oferă un mix de sunete, lumini, animaţii şi elemente pirotehnice, care aduc în prim-plan atmosfera oraşului mitic Atlantis, spectacolul fiind gratuit.

Dacă vă gândiţi că The Forum Shops este doar o variantă secundară de divertisment în Vegas, după celebrele cazinouri, vă înşelaţi. Mall-urile din Vegas fac mare concurenţă spațiilor de joc, mulți lăsându-și banii aici. Însă dacă acum 2000 de ani toate drumurile duceau la Roma, acum, in Vegas, toți banii ajung într-un singur buzunar – al marilor corporații de gambling.

Așadar, Las Vegas nu e doar o destinație de joc, ci și una de shopping, pe lângă una de entertainment. Iar cu această ocazie ați aflat că unul din secretele cazinourilor este că ele fac bani non-stop din absolut tot ceea întâlnești în Vegas, nefind nevoie să ajungi la ruletă sau în fața aparatului de joc pentru a băga mii de dolari în buzunarele proprietarilor de cazinourilor. Pentru că, să nu uităm, The Forum Shop face parte din Caesars Palace…
