Some have gotten hooked on Thailand or the Caribbean but, lets face it, how many of us have thought about what’s on the other side of the Black Sea, on the Russian side?

If the Italian Riviera has the San Remo pearl, and the you don’t even know what to pick on the French Riviera, from Monte Carlo, to Cannes, Saint Tropez or Nice, well, Russia also has its own Riviera, the Caucasian one at the Black Sea, and its own jewel as well: Sochi city, the largest springs resort. In order to pain you a picture of the city’s investments, note that for the 2014 Winter Olympics, the Russian state spent 12 billion dollars and the commercial was ensured.

Investments bring wealth

And where wealthy Russians come, especially where there is a chance of attracting tourists, Moscow decided to allow gambling. Last year, precisely on 5 January 2017, the Gorki Gorod resort (actually a suburb of Sochi) opened the Sochi Casino and Resort, with an impressive offer. The casino offers players 569 slot machines, 70 gambling tables of which 22 American Roulettes and 38 Black Jack, Russian Poker, Casino Texas Hold’em, Baccarat. Besides these, players also have a Poker Room with 10 playing tables. The total capacity of the casino is of approximatively 2000 people. The goal of the managers of the complex is to attract 40,000 visitors each month. Impressive, if we think about the fact that in the Sochi area, there are 450 hotels and villas.

In order to attract clients and to win over new players, not only those visiting Sochi for the sea-side in summer or ski in the winter, the casino offers many promotions to players, attractive through the amounts of the prizes – either luxury cars, such as Bentley Mulsanne, or tournaments worth millions of Rubles (1 million Rubles = 15,800 dollars). Furthermore, live concerts with local stars are scheduled for the entire duration of the summer.

Sochi Casino and Resort is considered a unique place, the first integrated resort where luxury and expensive interiors are organically combined with the best restaurants in Sochi, with brand stores, entertainment halls and ballrooms, with cabaret and a casino. Iar acolo unde vin bogații Rusiei, dar mai ales unde există șansa să fie atrași turiștii, Moscova a decis să permită organizarea de jocuri de noroc. De anul trecut, mai exact din 5 ianuarie 2017, în stațiunea Gorki Gorod (de fapt o suburbie a Sochiului) s-a deschis Sochi Casino and Resort, cu o ofertă impresionantă. Cazinoul oferă jucătorilor 569 slot machines, 70 de mese de joc dintre care 22 de Rulete Americane și 38 de mese de Black Jack, Russian Poker, Casino Texas Hold’em, Baccarat. În 2010, autoritățile federale au identificat patru  zone specifice unde să fie permisă organizarea de jocuri de tip cazino: orașul Azov, în pregiunea Krasnodar, Primorye, în apropierea portului Vladiviostok, Kaliningrad, enclava rusă de la Marea Baltică și Altai, în Siberia. Deși este cunoscut ca un adversar al gamblingului și considera Sochi un oraș dedicat familiei, în 2014, președintele  Vladimir Putin a semnat decretul care permite și orașului Sochi și peninsulei Crimeea (anexată de Rusia, de la vecina Ucraina, în 2014) să intre în industria jocurilor de noroc. Anul trecut, Moscova a anuțat că orașul Azov nu va mai fi zonă destinată gamblingului din  2019, iar operatorii de gaming vor fi concetrați în Sochi, fiindu-le permisă dezvoltarea în zona fostului parc olimpic.

Scopul – creșterea numărului de turiști în extrasezon ca urmare a utilizării infrastructurii create pentru Jocurile Olimpice din 2014, după cum afirmă Jonathan Galavitz, partener de consultanță la Global Market Advisor LLC.

Să nu uităm că în apropierere de orașul Sochi se află și circuitul unde se desfășoară Marele Premiu de Formula 1 al Rusiei și că orașul a găzduit meciuri de la Cupa Mondială de Fotbal.

Faptul că acest cazino din Sochi este deja unul cunoscut la nivel european o dovedește organizarea aici a unei etape in circuitul European Poker Tour cu premii totale de milioane de euro.
