Bucharest was the host city this year for the european gambling industry
Between June 9th-11th, at the Hotel Novotel in Bucharest, over 150 delegates joined the most important international training and business event that was ever held on Romanian territory, event for which the Casino Inside magazine was a Lead Partner and promoter in our country.
This triumph is first of all a big success for Romania, because it showed how important is this market for this part of Europe. The delegates which were presents at this event unanimously agreed that the Romanian gambling market is growing, highlighting its importance as the biggest active gambling market in Estearn Europe – there are many countries around us that closed their doors to this form of entertainment, but being also important due to the effective value of its numbers: around 400 operators, approximately 30.000 employes and over 65.000 operating slot machines.
The first day was truly extraordinary, as many personalities from the gambling industry around the world and from Romania were present in the Paris hall from Hotel Novotel in Bucharest.
The event truly met the highest expectations of everybody, many sponsors and guests being present in order to find out more about the future of the global gambling industry, to know each other and to make business togheter.
We are happy that the Romanian participation at the Summit was large too, and that those who were present fully enjoyed the advantages of being part of this top event.
We are glad that our magazine managed once again to offer a memorable event, with the startegic help of our partners, Clarion Events and Slot Academy.
Arjan Korstjens – Strategic Planning Director at QUINCE Amsterdam, Lucien Wijsman – Director at Slot Academy or Guy Konforti – Vice-President at YCD Multimedia were among the first day hosts approaching themes like: What is Multimedia management and how can it be applied within your casino? What Multimedia Products on the Market Best Suit Your Needs? Or Multi-Media Products – A User’s Perspective.
The first day ended with a festive dinner at the Teatro restaurant from Hotel Novotel and a fabulous cabaret evening offered by The Malan Ruj Cabaret, that created a great atmosphere.
The second day of the Summit brought to our attention an extremely interesting presentation held by Randy Haynes from Randy Haynes Associated, who explained how you can calculate odds and prizes value at the betting agencies. He also presented elaborate methods of asessing risk in sport betting. After the lunch break we enjoyed an interesting presentation from Robert Dijkstra – Managing Director at Ainsworth UK, who approached the following topics: Multi-games devices vs. single-game devices. He also teached us when to use single-game devices and when do multi-game devices bring more value to the gaming room.
On the evening of June 10th we enjoyed, apart from the habitual dinner at the restaurant, a great concert organized by the instrumental band Amadeus.
The third day of the Summit organized in Bucharest brought the last speakers on the stage. Marco Herrera, Vice-president at Bally Technologies exposed his vision regarding what the future has in store for us in the area of slot machines payment. The audience in the hall witnessed a display of future developments brought in the present days, finding out more about the future of credit charges in the slot machines.
After the lunch break we witnessed the final presentation, held by James Gray – Operations Director at Playtech. He approched two topics: Server based games: historic promise vs. reality and Banknote Acceptors & Ticket Printers for gaming tables.
This is how history was writen at the most important gambling event ever organized in the capital city of our country.
Slot Summit Europe Bucharest brought expert speakers from around the world, who held presentations about machines’ performances, gaming innovation and players marketing, making sure that you will take the right decisions for the future of your business. At this event you could find out more about the latest tendencies which can help you make sure that your business will maximize opportunities and minimize risks. On top of that, you could spend quality time with people who have additional information about the latest technologies and innovations, you received quality support, ideas, solutions for your problems from international partners and colleagues in the branch and you saved time and money by learning what is right to implement (and what not) from your colleagues in the global gaming industry.
All in all, in these three days of events you gained experience, information and new friends, you learned about what is it like to be part of the big family of european and global gambling. Romania is an important member of the industry and throughout this event the country received its well-deserved recognition in the field. We are extremely happy that Casino Inside magazine was a Lead Partner and one of the initiators who proposed to organize the 2015 edition of the event in Bucharest. We proved once again, this time on a global level, what we are capable to promote the gaming industry’s interests in Romania around the world. It is not entirely our achievement, as we also owe great appreciation to the romanian companies’ representatives who participated at the European Slot Summit Bucharest and understood the importance of this manifestation.
Those who stayed at home (when in their living room business was taking place) or had other priorities, must know what a big loss this was, but we hope that in time they will understand that a good thing only happens if you are in the right place, in the middle of the action, staying aside you can’t change things either for you or for others. Your place is with us, with Casino Inside, now and in the future. Follow us!
P.S. Special thanks for their collaboration to Lucian Wijsman – Content Director of Slot Summit and Paul Mills – Operations Director at Clarion Events. Congratulations for this extraordinary event!
