Well, that year ended well, even if he closed the tournament on 2nd place in the Eureka Super High-Roller with a $50,000 buy-in. In 2016, success does not take long to appear and in February he wins almost $50,000 at the EPT season 12 in the UKIPT 5 series held in Dublin. Anyway, to put in $50,000 and get $1 million in 3-days work is not something that just anyone can do. He returns to Eureka, in Prague, in the winter of 2016 and exits as the winner of the $30,000 No Limit Holdem 8 Handed tournament. There weren’t many participants, but enough to ensure a $240,912 win for first place. The satisfaction was even greater as Steve O’Dwyer was once again defeated, finishing 5th.

2017 brings many played tournaments, extraordinary results and about $2.5 million in his bank account. The result of which he is most proud during that year is the one from November at Punta Cana, in Mexico, where $5,000 invested earned him no less than $1 million. In 6 days of contest, over 1000 participants were triaged, none of which could stop Sam.

The greatest hit

2017 aduce cu sine multe turnee jucate, rezultate deosebite și vreo 2,5 milioane de dolari în cont. Rezultatul de care e cel mai mândru în acel an este cel obținut în noiembrie la Punta Cana, în Mexic, unde pentru 5,000 de dolari investiți câștigă nu mai puțin de 1 milion de dolari. În 6 zile de concurs s-au triat peste 1000 de participanți care nu au putut să-l oprească pe Sam.

Cea mai tare lovitură

Anul 2018, dacă s-ar opri acum și tot ar fi cel mai bun din carieră! În 4 luni a câștigat 4 turnee și a obținut peste 4 milioane de dolari! Incredibil, nu? Cea mai fastă perioadă din cariera lui Greenwood începe la Antipozi, unde câștigă turneul Aussie Millions Poker Championship cu buy-in de 50,000 de dolari australieni. De aici pleacă cu un titlu și cu aproape 100,000 de dolari americani în buzunar. În martie nu se descurcă rău nici în Macao unde termină al treilea la Super High Roller-ul de la Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT), dar în aprilie a fost nebunie! Câștigă pe 10 aprilie Super High Rollerul de 50,000 de dolari de la partypoker Millions Grand Final Barcelona unde îl învinge inclusiv pe celebrul Patrick Antonius (acesta a încheiat pe 3) și de unde pleacă cu 1 milion de euro în buzunar, apoi câștigă pe 21 aprilie High Rollerul de la WPT Amsterdam, ca în final pe 28 aprilie să obțină cel mai bun rezultat din carieră, la EPT Monte Carlo Super High Roller. Cu cei 1,853,387 de dolari (motive) obținuți aici putem să considerăm că această lună a fost una dintre cele mai bune perioade văzută vreodată la un jucător de poker.

Sam Greenwood nu poate fi considerat vreun jucător genial sau măcar talentat, dar se pare că perseverența și capacitatea de a învăța din greșeli sau să zicem din experiența de joc de pe la turneele live l-au făcut ceea ce a devenit acum, adică un jucător tare!
