RAMON CSEREI: You make your own ”luck”, even in pokerRAMON CSEREI: „Norocul” ți-l faci singur, chiar și în poker

Ramon „Demon” Cserei, the recent winner of PokerFest Brasov 2011, shares a few thoughts with us about: the attraction he feels towards poker, styles of play, how to win in poker and the importance of this game in his life.

What was the event that opened your way to poker?

I’ve entered the world of gambling in a time when I needed money. I was sick, wasn’t going to work and then I happened to see the PokerStars site’s online advertising. Immediately after that I started playing on virtual money.

How do you explain the attraction to poker?

Poker represents a continuous challenge for me and I like the fact that this game gives me the possibility to exceed the limits.

What’s more important to you: online poker or live poker?

Taking into consideration the fact that I’ve started playing poker online, I believe this one is more important. I consider the online poker to support the live version of the game.

If you were to describe your style of play, what would your main strenghts be? On the other hand, if there were something to change about your game, what would that be?

I don’t have a certain style of play; I try to adapt to the players and the table. If I were to choose a strategy, I think I fall within the aggressive players’ category.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to make the leap from amateurs to prefessionals?

I don’t know if it’s necessarily an advice, I’d say it’s more of an opinion, but I’d tell anyone that a lot of patience and work can lead, in time, to good results.

Have you participated in a tour that you have fond memories of?

It’s definitely the European Poker Tour which took place at San Remo.

What role does poker play in your life? Where do you fit it in your long-term plans?

Poker stopped to be a hobby for me a long time ago, now I see it as a job and in the future it will maintain this position in my life.

What does a poker player have to do to get relevant results?

The most important thing for a player is to know how to adapt to the continuous changes of the game.

There’s the  preconception that in poker money are gained very easy. Do you think that’s true?

From my point of view, those who say this are not right and by this they show they haven’t really understood poker.

Is there a player you admire? Who is he and what do you appreciate him most for?

Shaun Deeb is a player who is regularly present on PokerStars and who inspires me the most. I like the fact that, during the game, he dominates the tables where he is playing and he adapts to all the game changes. That’s why he is still one of the best players on the site.

What are your hobbies? What do you do in your spare time?

Fishing is my hobby, but unfortunately I don’t do this as much as I would like.

In your opinion, how much of poker it’s about luck and how much it’s about a mind game?

Variation usually gives payers a hard time, but in principle, you make your own ”luck”, even in poker.

Which are your priorities for the following years?

Care a fost întamplarea care a deschis drumul tău în poker?

Am intrat în lumea gamblingului într-un moment în care aveam nevoie de bani. Eram bolnav, nu mergeam la serviciu și atunci s-a întamplat să văd publicitatea online a site-ului PokerStars. Imediat după am început să joc pe bani virtuali.

Cum explici atracția față de poker?

Pokerul reprezintă o provocare continuă pentru mine și îmi place faptul că acest joc îmi dă posibilitatea să-mi depășesc limitele.

Care este mai important pentru tine: pokerul online sau live?

Având în vedere că am început să joc online, cred că acesta are o importanță mai mare. Consider că pokerul online susține de fapt variant de joc live.

Dacă ar fi să faci o descriere a stilului tău de joc, care crezi că ar fi principalele tale puncte forte? Pe de altă parte, dacă ar fi ceva de schimbat la jocul tău, care crezi că ar fi acel lucru?

Nu am un stil anume de joc, ci caut să mă adaptez în funcție de masă și de jucători. Dacă ar fi să nominalizez o strategie, cred că mă încadrez în categoria de jucători agresivi.

Ce sfaturi ai oferi unei persoane care ar vrea să facă saltul de la amatori la profesioniști?

Nu stiu dacă este neapărat un sfat, cred că este mai mult o parere dar aș spune oricui că multă răbdare si multă muncă depusă pot duce, în timp, la obținerea unor rezultate bune.

Ai vreun turneu la care ai participat și care ți-a rămas la suflet?

Cu siguranță este European Poker Tour desfășurat la San Remo.

Care este rolul pokerului în viața ta? Unde îl poziționezi în planurile tale de viitor?

Pokerul a încetat de mult timp să mai fie doar un hobby pentru mine, acum îl consider un job, iar pe viitor își va păstra aceeași poziție în viața mea.

Ce trebuie sa facă un jucător de poker ca să obțină rezultate notabile?

Cel mai important pentru un jucător este să știe să se adapteze la shimbările continue ale jocului.

Există ideea preconcepută că banii din poker se câștigă foarte ușor. Crezi că cei care susțin acest lucru au dreptate?

Cei  care afirmă asta nu au dreptate din punctul meu de vedere și demonstrează că încă nu au înțeles pokerul.

Este vreun jucător pe care-l admiri? Cine este el și pentru ce anume îl apreciezi?

Shaun Deeb este un jucător care are o prezență regulată pe PokerStars care pe mine personal m-a inspirat foarte mult. Îmi place la el faptul că în timpul jocului domină mesele la care joacă și se adaptează la tot ceea ce înseamnă schimbări ale jocului. Prin aceste lucruri rămâne în continuare unul dintre cei mai buni jucători de pe acest site.

Care sunt hobbyurile tale? Ce faci în timpul liber?

Pescuitul este hobby-ul meu, însă din păcate nu îl practic atât de mult pe cât mi-aș dori.

După părerea ta, cât este noroc și cât este sport al minții, jocul de poker?

Variația este cea care dă de obicei bătaie de cap jucătorilor de poker, însă în principiu „norocul” ți-l faci singur, chiar și în poker.

Care sunt prioritățile tale în poker pentru următorii ani?

În următorii ani mi-am propus să particip mai mult la turneele live.
