Live Poker: the Romanian Fall-Winter calendar has fallen into place

Friday, 19 October 2018

After a very rich first half of the year filled with live poker festivals, the Romanian fall-winter calendar has fallen into place in “the general neighborhood” of those from PokerFest, so the players which are passionate for the excitement and pleasures of live poker can update their agendas.

As such, PokerFest Romania is preparing at least two important events in the following months: the anniversary festival “PokerFest 7 YEARS” and “IPC Poker Tour”.

PokerFest 7 YEARS

“PokerFest 7 YEARS” will take place between the 22nd and the 28th of October in Brasov, and it shall be a festival focused on celebrating, alongside the community, the 7 years of the greatest events in Romanian Poker. The journey of those at PokerFest started in October 2011 in Timisoara, with a single tournament – a main event of EUR 550 and only 56 participants, that is less than the number of dealers present at the most recent festival, Unibet Open, held at the end of July 2018.

And such a stellar evolution deserves to be celebrated… through work and fun. Work on behalf of those at PokerFest and fun for the players in the series of five main five tournaments. together with the satellites and the cash games, with at least RON 700,000 in guaranteed prizes.

The Main event and the High Roller are the tournaments which are most aimed at by participants. With buy-ins of EUR 550 and EUR 1,100 respectively, these shall attract the entire crème de la crème of Romania’s tournament regulars, but also a whole bunch of recreational players, given the clear touristic location in which the festival shall take place.

The celebration shall not lack surprises for participants either, from parties to gifts. Upon exercising the privilege of announcing the festival, PokerFest CEO, Sorin Constantinescu stated: ”PokerFest is my lovechild, and this year it turns 7, and I am inviting all the circuit’s friends to join us in celebrating its anniversary. We will be playing a lot of poker, but we will also have a reunion among friends, with great please as usual, for a week of fun in Brasov. Seven years already represent a whole history. It was a long and beautiful road and we’re only at the start of it. What is best is yet to come.”

IPC Poker Tour

“IPC Poker Tour”, held at the Intercontinental Hotel in the country’s capital, shall take place between November 28th and December 2nd, with a series of tournaments to which at least 150 Israeli players have announced their participation. The festival is on its second edition, after the one on march 2017, where the Romanian pro-player Tudor Purice won the Main Event and EUR 47,500.

The November-December festival shall have a classic series of tournaments and cash rounds, set to blaze by the Israeli participant’s thirst for the game. As before, the important tournaments shall be the Main Event of EUR 550 and the High Roller of EUR 1,100.

Both festivals shall be preceded by on-line qualifications, however, all details may be found in real-time on the “PokerFest Romania” Facebook page.

So here are the game opportunities for the Romanian poker devotees during the next period of time. 2018 was a full year on the PokerFest agenda, with seven events until now: Romanian Poker Series, PokerFest Poiana Brasov, 888LIVE (Bucharest, Iași and Mamaia Resort), Caelia VIP Poker, and Unibet Open.
