>  First of all, tell us why you think it’s poker so popular this years in the world?
Poker has always been a social game, but these days being social means something entirely different from what it did in the past. Poker game and its popularity is constantly evolving, from Poker Halls to On-line poker sites, and now next step are Social networks. Maybe they wouldn’t collect any rake in those games, but is important just to be present where poker players are going to fulfill their daily need of poker game. People want to play poker; the question is only where.
I think that Live Poker still has it special charm, confronting one player to another, and many players which had started playing poker On-line, for fun, ended like professional players in Live Poker.

 >  Why do you think it’s appropriate to have an poker tournament management system?
Running a poker tournament today at professional level is impossible without one good Poker Tournament Management System. Taking tracks about all data, all players and events at one time and organize all processes is very easy if you have „personal assistant” which do all the hard work.
The result is that Poker Tournament Management System improves management of the poker hall from the operational, marketing and supervision perspective, enhancing the poker room profitability and increasing player retention.

 >  Your company, Advansys Gaming Technology, has a very good poker tournament management system named Big Boss. Please describe this product. Which are the components and what they do?
Big Boss™ – Poker Tournaments Management module is a professional, but comprehensive and user friendly solution for management of TH Poker tournaments and cash game as well. It is designed to substantially reduce time spent for tournaments management even in the biggest and best organized Poker Rooms, no matter of their number, size or distance between them. Big Boss™ can work as Stand-alone system or as a module inside our casino management system and in both cases represents a powerful tool to improve marketing and operation processes. The final result is increased profitability of poker rooms.
The whole infrastructure is build around main Floor Server, which is the mind and the heart of the system. On this server we connect multiple users, from floor personnel mobiles or tablets, to ticket center – cash desk and backoffice stations.
All Advansys TableScaner™ software modules are designed to work within the MS Windows operating system to offer totally user-friendly environment. Each system user can access the software application with own username and password, which define his system permissions. These permissions are predefined by upper management and can be defined for a single user or group of users. This means, different individuals and different working positions can access to different parts of Big Boss™- Poker Tournaments Management module software.
Big Boss™ software application can be installed on any MS Windows based PC (minimum operating system requirement is MS Windows XP Pro, but works fine also with MS Windows Vista and MS Windows 7). Users can access the application from almost anywhere, simply using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection.
If i must say, which are the most important parts of our system, i will point out three funcionalities. First is web link for mobile devices that support http protocol (Android, IPhone, Windows, etc.), which gives you complete information and control of the tournament and can run the tournaments directly from casino floor with only a smart phone or a tablet. Second thing are multiple backoffice options. From setable templates for every type of tournament, prize pools and easy settings changes, even when the tournament is running to total control over all events with exportable reports. The third thing is Cash Desk and Accounting module, which provides a total overview of deposits, withdrawals and financial reports. Total overview of financial data and operating highlights – at any time, you can get information on the value of deposits, commission rates, active players, the prize pool amount, the number of chips in the tournament and you can print bar code tickets for each transaction.

 >  What are the system key-benefits?
If we focus just to some of them, most important is permanent players database with easy access, not only at local poker hall, it can be used in multi-site locations.
Is it very easy to handle, because we made it everything automated, from calculation of Prize-pools and individual prizes to setting multiple algorithms for allocation of tournaments seats, selectable number of seats on each and every poker table, easy access to detailed records of all tournaments and sessions permanently stored in the database, with comprehensive analytics of each and single tournament, and much more… We can still manual open, brake and close the poker table, but for total control over financial transactions and players we implemented the use of Barcode Tickets.
But for us, the main thing is that we can connect unlimited locations in one multi-site venue, which allow us to have bigger prize-pools from many locations and this is powerful marketing tool. On the other hand, with Multi-screen mode we can also display data of different events taking place at the same time in one or more locations.

 >  Which are the strenghts of the systems?
Big Boss system is very easy to use, we manage tournaments directly on the floor with smart phones or tablets, users access to the system through Android, iOS or Windows. We export all tournament results in HTML format to share it on the Web. Like i said, very easy to use, but nevertheless this is still professional an very stable system designed for the Casinos and poker halls.

>  Which are the differences between Big Boss and other similar systems?
Big Boss was at first just a module inside our TableScanner, Casino Management System for table games. So, it is more than just a poker tournament management system, it could be used also for the other card games inside the casino. Now it can be stand alone product, developed for the small poker halls, or just a part of the Casino Management system inside one casino.

>  Can we speak about Big Boss like a revolutionary system? Why?
Yes. The biggest benefit is Multisite connection of various poker rooms in one big poker network.

>  Which are the locations where it is installed Big Boss poker tournament management system?
Advansys has a reputation of being a reliable and flexible business partner, and our products excel in reliability, modularity, scalability and price/performance ratio. All Advansys products are developed and manufactured in Slovenia and tested live in the most demanding gaming environments. Our systems are currently installed in more than 100 locations worldwide, in more than 25 different countries.
Some of them are Poker Room in Hit Casino Perla, where we have our system for around 30 poker tables, Hit Casino Park and Hit Casino Korona in Slovenia, Casino San Marino – Giochi del Titano and many others. >  Înainte de toate, spuneţi-ne de ce credeţi că pokerul a devenit atât de popular în lume în ultimii ani?
Pokerul a fost întotdeauna un joc social, dar în zilele noastre, acest concept s-a extins faţă de ce reprezenta în trecut. Jocul de poker și popularitatea lui sunt în continuă ascensiune, de la săli de poker, la site-uri de poker online, iar următorul pas sunt acum reţelele sociale. Poate că jocurile nu sunt modificate substanţial, dar este important să fii prezent acolo unde jucătorii își satisfac nevoia zilnică de a juca poker. Oamenii vor să joace poker; întrebarea este unde.
Cred că pokerul live are încă un farmec aparte, întrucât jucătorii sunt confruntaţi direct, iar mulţi jucători care au început să joace poker on-line, pentru distracţie, au ajuns jucători profesioniști în pokerul live.

>  De ce consideraţi necesar un sistem de management al turneelor de poker?
Organizarea unui turneu de poker la un nivel profesionist este imposibil astăzi fără un bun sistem de management al turneelor de poker. Colectarea de informaţii și date, despre jucători și evenimente în același timp și organizarea tuturor proceselor, toate aceste devin ușoare dacă ai un ”asistent personal” care se ocupă de toată munca grea.
Rezultatul la care contribuie sistemul de management al turneelor de poker este îmbunătăţirea sălii de joc, atât operaţional, cât și din punct de vedere al marketingului, supervizare, mărind profitabilitatea acesteia și afluxul de jucători.

 >  Compania dumneavoastră, Advansys Gaming Technology, are un sistem de management al turneelor de poker foarte bun, numit Big Boss. Vă rog să descrieţi acest produs. Care sunt componentele lui și ce rol au?
Big Boss™ – Poker Tournaments Management (managementul turneelor de poker) este un modul profesional, cuprinzător și ușor de utilizat, al managementului turneelor de poker, dar și pentru jocurile cash. Este realizat pentru a reduce substanţial timpul petrecut pentru a manageria un turneu de poker, chiar și în cazul celor mai mari și bine organizate camere de poker, indiferent de numărul lor, mărime sau distanţa dintre ele. Big Boss™ funcţionează fie ca un sistem de sine stătător, fie ca un modul din interiorul sistemului de management al cazinoului, în ambele cazuri fiind un instrument util pentru îmbunătăţirea marketingului și a procesului operaţional. Rezultatul final este creșterea profitabilităţii în camerele de poker.
Întreaga infrastructură este contruită în jurul unui server principal – Floor Server, care reprezintă mintea și inima sistemului. La acest server sunt conectaţi utilizatori diferiţi, de la mobile și tablete ale utilizatorilor, până la centrul de bilete – casierie și staţii din spatele acestora.
Toate modulele de software Advansys TableScaner™ sunt concepute să funcţioneze pentru sistemul de operare MS Windows, fiind foarte ușor de utilizat. Fiecare utilizator al sistemului poate accesa aplicaţia de software cu un username și o parolă proprii, care îi definesc accesul la sistem. Acest acces este predefinit de către un sistem de management superior, și poate fi acordat unui singur utilizator sau unui grup de utilizatori. Ceea ce inseamnă că indivizi diferiţi, aflaţi în diferite puncte de acces, pot accesa modulul software al Big Boss™- Poker Tournaments Management.
Aplicaţia de software Big Boss™  poate fi instalată  pe orice calculator cu MS Windows (este necesar ca sistemul de operare să nu fie mai vechi decât MS Windows XP Pro, cu toate că sistemul funcţionează și pe MS Windows Vista sau MS Windows 7). Utilizatorii pot accesa aplicaţia din orice loc, utilizând o conexiune VPN (Virtual Private Network – reţea virtuală privată).
Dacă ar trebui să spun care sunt cele mai importante părţi ale sistemului nostru, voi sublinia trei funcţionalităţi. În primul rând este link-ul web pentru dispozitive mobile care suportă protocolul http (Android, iPhone, Windows, etc), care vă oferă informaţii și control al turneului complete și pentru a putea rula turneele direct de la cazinou, cu doar un telefon inteligent sau o tabletă . Al doilea lucru la care vreau să mă refer sunt opţiunile multiple de backoffice. De la template-uri setabile pentru fiecare tip de turneu, fondul de premiere și modificările ușoare ale setărilor, chiar și atunci când turneul se află în desfășurare există control total asupra tuturor evenimentelor, existând posibilitatea de a oferi rapoarte ce pot fi exportate. Al treilea lucru este Casieria și Modulul de Contabilitate, care oferă o privire de ansamblu a depozitelor, retragerilor și rapoartelor financiare. Lista completă a datelor financiare și scoaterea în evidenţă a operaţiunilor – în orice moment, puteţi obţine informaţii cu privire la valoarea depozitelor, ratele de comisioane, jucători activi, suma fondului de premiere, numărul de jetoane în turneu și puteţi imprima bilete cu cod de bare pentru fiecare tranzacţie.

>  Care sunt beneficiile-cheie ale sistemului?
Dacă ne concentrăm doar asupra unora dintre ele, cea mai importantă este baza de date a jucătorilor, care oferă acces imediat, nu doar celor din sala de poker, dar și altor locaţii.
Este ușor de manevrat, întrucât totul este construit automat, de la calcularea fondului de premii și a premiilor individuale până la algoritmi cu setări multiple pentru locurile din turneu, cu un număr selectabil de locuri pentru fiecare masă de poker, acces rapid la rapoarte detaliate ale turneelor și sesiunilor permanente stocate în sistem, cu o analiză cuprinzătoare a fiecărui turneu și multe altele. Ne permite să deschidem, să oprim pentru pauză sau să închidem masa de poker, dar pentru un control total asupra tranzacţiilor și jucătorilor am implementat integrarea biletelor care au coduri de bare.
Pentru noi, principalul avantaj este faptul că putem conecta un număr nelimitat de puncte de acces într-un loc multi-site, ceea ce ne permite să avem un fond de premii mai mare, colectat din mai multe locaţii, fiind și un instrument puternic de marketing. Pe de altă parte, cu ajutorul funcţiei ecran-multiplu putem afișa date ale diferitelor evenimente care au loc în același timp în locuri diferite.

>  Care sunt punctele forte ale sistemului?
Sistemul Big Boss™  este ușor de utilizat, turneele sunt manageriate de la un nivel superior, cu ajutorul telefoanelor inteligente (smart phones), al tabletelor, utilizatorii având acces prin sistemele Android, iOS sau Windows. Rezultatele turneelor sunt exportate în format HTML pentru a fi afișate pe Web. Așa cum am spus, este foarte ușor de folosit, dar în același timp sistemul este profesionist și foarte stabil, destinat cazinourilor și sălilor de poker.

>  Ce diferenţiază Big Boss de alte sisteme similare?
Big Boss™  a fost iniţial un sistem integrat în TableScanner, Sistemul nostru de Management pentru mese de joc. Așadar, este mai mult decât un sistem de management al turneelor de poker, întrucât poate fi setat și pentru alte jocuri de cărţi din interiorul cazinoului. Acum poate fi un produs de sine stătător, realizat pentru sălile mici de poker, sau doar pentru o parte a sistemului de Management al Cazinoului.
