Madrid to alter casino laws for Euro Vegas Madrid schimba legile de gambling pentru Euro Vegas
The Madrid regional government is currently making changes to key local gambling laws to help benefit Sheldon Adelson’s EuroVegas project before construction is scheduled to get underway next year.
The Popular Party administration of Ignacio González wants to exempt EuroVegas from a 2001 law that sanctions casinos with fines of up to 600,000 euros if they refuse to pay gamblers what they are owed or throw them out of the premises if they are winning too much.
The modification is included in the 2013 budget proposal sent to the regional legislature. The González government has also relaxed a 1977 law regulating the amount of tax casinos must pay. Until now it was based on the amount of money casinos took in, but now the tax base will be structured on the amount of prizes that the casino offers.
At the same time, the central government is making its own changes to certain laws to ensure the success of EuroVegas. One of these is to allow municipalities to exempt companies and entities from having to pay certain taxes if local officials find it fit
Adelson has pledged to invest some six billion euros beginning at the end of the year in his massive casino hotel project, which will most likely be built in Alcorcón, on the outskirts of Madrid.

Administratia Partidului Popular impreuna cu liderul Ignacio González vor sa excepteze Euro Vegas de la sanctiunea unei legi din 2001 care prevede amenzi de pana la 600.000 euro in cazul in care refuza sa plateasca sumele datorate jucatorilor sau sa ii de-a afara din cazinou in cazul in care acestia castiga prea mult.
Modificarea este inclusa in propunerea de buget din 2013 trimis legislativului regional. Guvernul lui González a relaxat de asemenea o lege din 1977 care regulariza taxele pe care cazinourile trebuie sa le plateasca. Pana acum taxarea se face in functie de incasarile cazinourilor, dar in urma modificarilor baza taxelor se va structura in functie de suma premilor pe care cazinoul le ofera.
In acelasi timp guvernul spaniol face proprile schimbari la anumite legi pentru a asigura succesul Euro Vegas. Una dintre acestea permite municipalitatilor sa excepteze de la plata taxelor anumite companii sau entitati private daca oficialitatile locale considera acest lucru ca fiind important pentru economia locala.
Andelson a garantat investirea a nu mai putin de 6 miliarde in impresionantul proiect casino resort, care va fi construit cel mai probabil in Alcorcón, periferia orasului Madrid. El a declarant ca Euro Vegas va creea aproximativ 72.000 de joburi in domeniul serviciilor si inca 15.0000 in constructii.
