Whether it’s the domestic championship, the Champions League or Europa League, it’s good to be up-to-date on the latest news about the team we want to bet on and examine previous results and bets, if needed. In this issue, we look at Paris Saint Germain (PSG) as a team that is among the top European teams, but also the protagonist of financial controversy.
A short history of the club
This club was founded on August 12, 1970 by the merger between Paris FC and Stade Saint-Germain, merging the names of the two teams. Over the years, it won six titles in Ligue 1, ten French cups, six Coupe de la Ligue and five Trophée des Champions. Paris Saint-Germain (alongside the Olympique Marseille) is one of the two French clubs to win a major European trophy: UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1996. The team plays their home matches in Parc de Princes, the Parisian stadium of 49,691 seats and is coached by Unai Emery. Their sponsor is the Qatar Investment Authority, led by Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
The team
The PSG team are also called Les Rouge-et-Bleu (The Reds and Blues) and Les Parisiens (The Parisians), and the official website of the team is psg.fr. Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, Marco Veratti, Javier Pastore, Neymar, Angel di Maria, Edison Cavani, Thiago Motta and Kylian Mbappe are the main players and the whole lot is estimated at 775 million euros (according to forbes.com in June 2017). It’s a team that benefitted from a lot of investments and it shows, because the Parisians are dominating the French Championship.
After 10 stages in Ligue 1, PSG had an average of 3.1 goals scored / match, average possession of 63.% and 89.9% passing accuracy. They have an average of 17,2 shots on goal, with 17,2 tackles/match, and 15,6 dribbles. Discipline, however, posed difficulties, considering that they got 15 yellow cards and 2 red cards during the first 10 internal stages alone.
The team also had remarkable results at the European level in the Champions League, and the stars did their job. I’m still not convinced that they will be able to handle really strong teams such as Barcelona, Real Madrid or Manchester City, but when playing against the Germans in Bayern Munchen they won with a score of 3-0 effortlessly.
Edison Cavani and Neymar are competing for the title of the team’s top scorer, sometimes beyond the limit of collegiality and sportiness, which has created tensions in the locker room. However, Neymar seems to be one of the team’s most aggressive players, as he gets mad and gets yellow cards quite easily. That can be explained by the fact that he is subject to the pressure and aggression of the defensive midfielders of the opposing team. However, he is also the one who scored the most goals, and the statistics defy those who claim he has an individualistic playing style.
The defense of the team, Areola (goalkeeper) – Meunier, Marquinhos, T. Silva and Kurzawa, are doing a great job, and it’s very difficult to pass them. In fact, only T. Silva scored under 7 rating points, the other three having a score of over 7.2, excellent for stoppers. That is evidenced by the fact that they only get goals every 2 or 3 matches and they have a very small number of received goals.
The midfield of Veratti, Motta and Rabiot is meant for offensive support but at the same time it can be considered as a weak point of the team, since none of the three have the complete vision of the match specific to a class match leader.
What do we bet on PSG?
Without exception, at least 2 goals scored by the PSG in all the matches they play, regardless of the opponent. This is the most important and valuable long-term bet. Don’t expect a long series of wins from this team and beware of 1, X, 2. Line betting is not really profitable in this case. Even if there are Xs, draws are not a long-term option.
The second good bet is over 3 goals, the Asian handicap total goals. Be careful, not over 2,5 goals – a bet that generally has low odds for PSG – not over 3,5 goals. Over 3 goals means you get the money back if the team score exactly 3 goals and you win if they score 4 or more. This bet is also based on the offensive strength of the team, but carefully look at each opponent.
Since it’s a team prone to aggression, over 2 yellow cards / match is another bet that deserves trust and attention. But don’t be prejudiced and analyze your opponents, their disciplinary status and, of course, the statistics of each referee as well as how he is accustomed to lead each game.
Last but not least, betting on strikers can be profitable. Neymar and Cavani are supported by the entire team. Any other striker would be somewhat surprising, as di Maria și Mbappe are rather left behind instead of encouraged and supported to score. Betting on the correct score for this team is not recommended.

O echipă în care s-a investit uriaș, iar rezultatele sunt vizibile, parizienii dominând autoritar campionatul francez.

Doar la capitolul disciplină au fost probleme destul de mari, datorită faptului că au văzut 15 cartonașe galbene și 2 roșii în doar primele 10 etape interne.
Echipa a avut rezultate notabile și în plan european, în Champions League, starurile făcându-și datoria. Încă nu sunt convins că vor face față echipelor cu adevărat puternice precum Barcelona, Real Madrid sau Manchester City, dar în fața nemților de la Bayern Munchen s-au impus cu un 3-0 clar și fără prea mare efort.
Edison Cavani și Neymar se duelează pentru titlul de golgheter al echipei, uneori peste limita colegialității și sportivității, fapt ce a creat tensiuni în vestiar. Totuși, Neymar pare unul dintre cei mai agresivi jucători ai echipei, se enervează și încasează galbene cu destulă ușurință. Explicabil prin faptul că este supus presiunii și agresivității apărătorilor adverși. El este însă și cel care are cele mai multe pase de gol, statisticile sfindându-i pe cei care declară că are un stil de joc individualist.
Defensiva echipei, Areola (portar) – Meunier, Marquinhos, T. Silva și Kurzawa, se descurcă excelent, fiind foarte greu de trecut. De fapt, doar T. Silva este notat cu evoluții sub 7 puncte de rantig, ceilalți trei fiind cotați la peste 7.2, medii excelente pentru fundași. Dovadă stă faptul că primesc gol la 2-3 partide și au un număr foarte mic de goluri primite.
Mijlocul format din Veratti, Motta și Rabiot, este destinat susținerii ofensive, dar, în același timp, poate fi considerat ca un punct slab al echipei, niciunul dintre cei 3 neavând o viziune completă a meciului specifică un conducător de joc de clasă.
Ce pariem pe PSG?
Fără excepție, cel puțin 2 goluri marcate de PSG în toate partidele pe care le are de disputat, indiferent de adversar. Acesta este cel mai important și mai valoros pariu pe termen lung. Nu vă așteptați la o serie prea lungă de victorii din partea acestei echipe și feriți-vă de 1, X, 2. Pariurile pe linie nu sunt deloc valoroase în acest caz. Chiar dacă avem X-uri, egalurile nu sunt o variantă pe termen lung.
Al doilea pariu bun de jucat este peste 3 goluri, handicapul asiatic pe numărul de goluri. Atenție, nu peste 2.5 goluri – pariu care are cota, în general, prea mică la PSG -, nu peste 3.5 goluri. Peste 3 goluri înseamnă că primești banii înapoi dacă se înscriu exact 3 goluri și câștigi dacă se marchează 4 sau mai multe. Acest pariu este bazat tot pe forța ofensivă a echipei, dar analizați cu atenție fiecare adversar.
Fiind o echipă predispusă la agresivități, peste 2 cartonașe galbene/meci este alt pariu care merită încredere și atenție. Dar nu vă lăsați afectați de prejudecăți și analizați oponenții, starea lor disciplinară și, desigur, statisticile fiecărui arbitru precum și modul în care este obișnuit să conducă fiecare partidă.
Nu în ultimul rând, pariurile pe marcatori pot fi profitabile. Întreaga echipă trage pentru a-i susține pe Neymar și Cavani. Alt marcator este oarecum surprinzător, di Maria și Mbappe fiind mai degrabă lăsați în plan secund decât încurajați și sprijiniți să înscrie. Nu se recomandă pariurile pe scor corect în cazul acestei echipe.
Orice pariuri luați în considerare, nu uitați că aveți și posibilitatea de a miza live și de a face cashout (la foarte multe case de pariuri online) atunci când jocul nu decurge după cum ați pronosticat și, pariați responsabil, la mize adaptate bugetului de pariuri și care să vă asigure distracția specifică unui joc.
