Whether they are gambling or poker movies or whether their action simply takes place in the background of a casino or in the city of Las Vegas, there are also some excellent movies and some bad movies, but after all it does not matter how good they are, the important thing is that it is worth “risking” and continuing our journey through the world of movies, for the quietest sound of coins “delivered” at a doll slot win or a cross-eye look between two poker players! What Happens in Vegas (2008)
Two strangers find themselves hitched after a wild night of Las Vegas shenanigans. Before that în New York City, high-strung stockbroker Joy Ellis McNally (played by Cameron Diaz) is dumped by her fiancé at his surprise birthday she threw for him in front of all their friends while at the same time easy-going carpenter Jack Fuller (plyed by Ashton Kutcher) is fired from his job by his father, Jack, Sr. (played by Treat Williams). So, Joy and Jack meet by chance when they are given the same hotel room because of a computer error. After clearing up the misunderstanding and receiving upgraded rooms and coupons to various clubs, they party and drink together and end up getting married. The next morning, they realize it was a mistake and decide to divorce.
Before they do so, Jack uses a quarter Joy gives him in a slot machine. He hits a $3,000,000 dollar jackpot and Joy reminds Jack that they are married and hence, she is entitled to half of the money. The couple returns to New York, where they attempt to divorce. Their judge (Dennis Miller) declares that the couple cannot divorce until they attempt to co-exist for six months, while attending weekly sessions with a marriage counselor (Queen Latifah).
The newlyweds devise more and more cunning schemes to undermine each other, such as Jack telling Joy that their counseling session is canceled to prove she’s not committed, and Joy inviting girls to their apartment to try to get Jack to cheat on her, throwing a party where Jack’s friend Dave shows up. Jack gives Joy’s ex-fiancé, Mason (Jason Sudeikis), her engagement ring back without Joy knowing. At Joy’s job retreat, Jack and Joy find themselves developing an unexpected attraction to one another and they soon realize that being with each other has brought out the best in both of them.
In time, the marrieds may just discover that this union isn’t as far off the mark as they initially thought. After they get back from the retreat, it’s time for the judge to decide what happens to the money. At the hearing, their marriage counselor testifies that the couple truly tried to work on their marriage. The judge decides that they each get 1.5 million dollars, taking away taxes and the bills Joy had run up and Jack had spent on his new woodworking business. Joy tells the judge she doesn’t want any money, and gives the engagement ring to Jack, telling him she officially doesn’t want anything from him. Jack realizes she knows that he talked to Mason.
Joy gets the promotion she’d been working for, but tells her boss she would rather be happy doing nothing than doing something she hates and being miserable. Jack talks to his parents and they tell him it looks like he and Joy are in love. Realizing his mistake, he goes to find her. Tipper tells Jack that she quit her job and that nobody knows where she is. He has a suspicion that she has gone to a beach (Fire Island, New York) that she told him about, the only place that makes her feel truly happy. Jack asks her to be his wife (again) and she says yes. As the two embrace, Joy says that she quit her job and has no idea what she’s going to do. Jack reminds her that they have a lot of money between them. Joy states that they hit the jackpot, to which Jack replies that he certainly did (referring to both the money and to Joy).
Honeymoon in Vegas (1992)
Jack Singer (Nicolas Cage) has sworn to his mother while she was on her deathbed that he would never get married. Years later, he goes back on his promise and proposes to his girlfriend, Betsy (Sarah Jessica Parker), and quickly arranges a Las Vegas marriage.
She agrees, but in Vegas Jack gets cold feet while meanwhile an astonishing thing happens. A professional gambler Tommy Korman (played by James Caan) sees her in the lobby of a casino, and is overwhelmed by her resemblance to his own dead wife. He must have her. Thinking fast, he lures Jack into a poker game with steadily escalating stakes, until the only way Jack can possibly meet his losses is by agreeing to Korman’s terms, and Korman wants a weekend with Jack’s fiancé, Betsy.
After getting Korman to agree to no sex, the desperate couple agrees. Jack tries desperately to get Betsy back and discovers that Tommy has taken her to Hawaii, where he has a vacation home. The gambler also has a taxi driver friend, Mahi Mahi (Pat Morita), and asks him to keep Jack as far as possible from him and Betsy. Jack discovers this, steals the taxi, and finds Korman at the Kauai Club, where he’s attacked by Tommy and arrested. After having Dr. Molar (John Capodice) bail him out of jail, Mahi Mahi meets him outside and admits that Korman left for Vegas with Betsy and is forcing her to marry him. Mahi drive Jack to the airport. Betsy decides she cannot go through with the wedding and escapes from Tommy.
Meanwhile, after changing many planes and finding himself stuck in San Jose, Jack tries frantically to find a flight to Vegas. Finally, he finds a group about to depart for Vegas, but, much to his surprise, finds out mid-flight that they are the Utah chapter of the „Flying Elvises” – a skydiving team of Elvis impersonators. Jack now realizes that he will have to skydive from 5,000 meters in order to get to Betsy. Jack eventually is able to overcome his fear and lands and spots Betsy, which then ruins Tommy’s plans. In the end Jack and Betsy getting married in a small Las Vegas chapel with the Flying Elvises as guests.
Filming took place at Bally’s Casino Resort. Apart from Las Vegas itself, where Cage gets to fly over the crazily spired and turreted 4,000-room (the largest in the world – at the time) Excalibur Hotel, on the corner of Tropicana Avenue and the Strip, there’s more location filming in New York. And Caan’s Hawaiian estate was filmed on the garden island of Kauai.

What Happens in Vegas (2008)
Doi străini se trezesc împreună după o noapte de petrecere în Las Vegas. Înainte de asta, în New York, Joy Ellis McNally (jucată de Cameron Diaz), broker, a fost părăsită de logodnicul ei la petrecerea surpriză pe care ea o organizase pentru ziua lui de naștere, în fața tuturor prietenilor lor, iar în acelaşi timp cel de-al doilea personaj, volubilul tâmplar Jack Fuller (jucat de Ashton Kutcher) era concediat de la slujbă de tatăl său, Jack, Sr. (jucat de Treat Williams). Jack îi dă fostului logodnic al lui Joy, Mason (Jason Sudeikis), inelul ei de logodnă înapoi, fără ca Joy să aibă habar. Dar curând Jack şi Joy își dau seama că încep să dezvolte o atracție neaşteptată unul față de altul şi imediat ei își dau seama că atunci când sunt împreună aduc la suprafață fiecare ceea ce are mai bun în ei. Între timp, cei doi tineri căsătoriți pot descoperi că această uniune nu este atât de departe de ceea ce au crezut iniţial. Acum a venit momentul ca judecătorul să decidă ce se va întâmpla cu banii. În cadrul procesului, consiliera lor maritală depune mărturie cum că cei doi au încercat cu adevărat să își salveze căsnicia. Judecătorul decide că fiecare dintre cei doi să primească 1.5 milioane de dolari, din care să se scadă taxele şi impozitele celor doi. Joy îi spune judecătorului că ea nu mai vrea nici un ban, şi îi dă inelul de logodnă înapoi lui Jack, spunându-i că oficial ea nu vrea nimic de la el. Jack îşi dă seama că ea ştie că el a vorbit cu Mason.
Joy primește promovarea pentru care a lucrat din greu, dar îi spune șefului ei că ea prefera mai degrabă să fie fericită și să nu facă nimic decât să facă ceva ce urăşte şi să fie nefericită. Jack vorbeşte cu părinţii săi, iar aceștia îi spun că el şi Joy par a fi îndrăgostiți. Realizând ce greșeală a făcut el se duce să o caute pe fată. Tipper îi spune lui Jack că Joy a demisionat şi că nimeni nu ştie unde este. El bănuiește că ea ar putea fi pe o plajă (Fire Island, New York) despre care îi povestise cândva spunându-i că acesta era singurul loc care o face să se simtă cu adevărat fericită. Jack o cere de soţie (din nou) şi ea spune da. Cei doi se îmbrăţişează, Joy îi spune lui Jack că ea și-a dat demisia şi că nu are nici cea mai vagă idee despre ce o să facă. Jack îi aduce aminte că au o mulţime de bani împreună. Joy spune că au câștigat jackpot-ul, iar Jack îi răspunde că asta s-a întâmplat cu siguranţă (referindu-se atât la bani, cât și la Joy).
Honeymoon in Vegas (1992)
Jack Singer (Nicolas Cage) i-a jurat mamei sale când aceasta era pe patul de moarte că el nu nu se va căsători niciodată. Ani mai târziu, el își încalcă promisiunea, o cere de soție pe prietena lui, Betsy (Sarah Jessica Parker) şi aranjează rapid o căsătorie în Las Vegas.
Ea este de acord, dar în Vegas, Jack începe să aibă îndoieli și în acelaşi timp, se întâmplă un lucru uimitor. Jack încearcă cu disperare să fie aproape de Betsy pentru a o ajuta dacă va fi nevoie şi descoperă că Tommy a dus-o în Hawaii, unde acesta avea o casă de vacanță. Jucătorul, la rândul lui, îi cere unui prieten de-al său, şofer de taxi, Mahi Mahi (Pat Morita) să îl țină pe Jack cât mai departe posibil de el și de Betsy. Jack descoperă acest lucru, fură taxiul şi îl găsește pe Korman la clubul Kauai unde îl atacă şi este arestat. După ce Dr. Molar (John Capodice) îi plătește cauţiunea de eliberare din închisoare, Mahi Mahi vine să îl aștepte la ieșire și recunoaște că Betsy și Korman au plecat în Vegas şi că acesta o va obliga să se căsătorească cu el. Mahi îl conduce pe Jack la aeroport. Betsy decide că nu se poate căsători cu Tommy şi scapă din mâinile lui.
Între timp, după ce schimbă mai multe avioane fiind blocat în San Jose, Jack încearcă cu diperare să găsească un zbor spre Las Vegas. În cele din urmă, el găseşte un grup care tocmai era pe cale să plece la Vegas, dar, spre surprinderea lui, la mijlocul zborului află că aceștia sunt de fapt echipa „Flying Elvises” din Utah – o echipă de paraşutiști, toți sosii ai lui Elvis. Jack îşi dă seama că el va trebui să facă skydive de la 5.000 de metri pentru a ajunge la Betsy. Jack reușește în cele din urmă să își depăşească frica şi ajunge pe pământ, o găsește pe Betsy, lucru care îi strică planurile lui Tommy. În final Jack și Betsy se căsătoresc într-o mică capelă din Las Vegas, avându-i ca invitați doar pe Elvișii zburători.
Filmarea a avut loc la Bally’s Casino Resort. Pe lângă Las Vegas, unde Cage a trebuit să zboare nebunește pe deasupra turnurilor hotelului de 4.000 de camere (cel mai mare din lume – la acel timp) Excalibur Hotel, aflat la intersecția dintre Tropicana Avenue şi Strip, au mai fost multe locaţii de filmare în New York. Iar proprietatea hawaiană a lui Caan a fost filmată în insula Kauai.
