Peru is one of the most popular tourist destinations in South America. The vestiges of the Inca Empire attract like a magnet history lovers, adventurers, and inquisitive people alike. And any journey starts on the Pacific Coast, from the capital city of Lima, a megacity of about 8 million inhabitants, founded in 1535 by the Spanish conquistador Francesco Pizaro, who went down in history as the conqueror of the Inca Empire.
The City of Kings has shone for four centuries, both through its colonial buildings – among which there is also the University founded on the 12th of May 1551, the oldest in South America – and due to its very large parks, the pride of the Viceroyalty. Due to its ethnic mix, Lima has become globally and gastronomically renowned, as traditional cuisine is completed by Far Eastern cuisine, and European and African cuisine, as well. Since 2006, Lima has been acknowledged as the Gastronomic Capital of Latin America.
Therefore, no one arriving in Lima will be disappointed. Not even pretentious gamblers although, if they expect to find The Strip, like in Las Vegas, they will not find it.
The gambling business in Peru
Out of the 42 casinos operating in Peru, more than half, namely 24, are located in Lima. Officially, the business of the casino and gambling hall industry has reached one billion dollars in the first 10 months of 2018, of which 60% were made in Lima.
Most casinos in Peru, including those in Lima, only offer slot machines, like the largest casino in the country – Golden Palace – with 900 slot machines, but no live gambling table. Therefore, only three casinos can handle any requirement: The Majestic (inside Marriott Hotel), Fiesta Casino, and The Atlantic City Casino. All are situated in the Miraflores neighbourhood and very close to one another. All provide highest quality services and are professionally run.
Fiesta Hotel & Casino, hotel, casino, restaurant, spa and wellness – all in the same building
Fiesta Hotel and Casino is one of the most stately hotels and casinos in Lima. The Casino is not only among the largest in the country, but also the only one providing that Vegas style. This means that it is open around the clock, provides entertainment programmes and best quality services. Plus, it is right inside the hotel, occupying the first three floors. The Casino offers slot or video game enthusiasts no less than 413 state-of-the-art machines. For those who prefer classic live games, there are 36 tables, of which 13 for blackjack, 11 for French roulette, 5 for poker, 5 for baccarat, and 2 for Caribbean poker. For those who want to play in private and bet considerable amounts of money, here they can also find the most exclusive VIP room in Lima. There is also an Asian, as well as an Arab hall.
For loyal customers, the Casino has created a rewards card, on which points are collected from playing slot games. Depending on the number of points collected during a period of six months, the customer may become Diamond (at least 20,000 points), Ruber (between 5,000 and 19,999 points) or Ambar (up to 5,000 points). Such points can be used in exchange for money or for purchasing Fiesta items. Moreover, the card allows its holder to be eligible for complimentary offers, raffles or various promotional programmes. Furthermore, the holder can receive discounts for the spa, gym or restaurants, and in future he/she will receive free invitations to live shows held at Casino Fiesta.
Since we mentioned the restaurant, we should say that Fiesta Hotel and Casino has the Salsa’s Bar & Grill, a place serving traditional Peruvian dishes, as well as international dishes. It is located right in the heart of the Casino, so during a snack break you can watch various sporting events here, as the place is equipped with 144 television sets. If these are not enough, here you can also find the largest video projector in Lima, so that you will be able to watch your favourite sport or team in the best possible way.
Above the Casino, the fourth floor is dedicated to relaxation. Here is Zaphira Spa, where you can relax and let your body recover, by selecting one of the five existing treatments. No less than five therapy rooms are available, each equipped with sauna and jacuzzi. On this floor there is also T Welness Center, a well-equipped gymnasium, so that everyone who wants to stay in shape would be able to do so under the supervision of specialised personnel. As an option, you can also speak to a nutritionist.
In addition to the Casino restaurant and the Wellness and Spa Centre, Fiesta Hotel also makes available to customers the 8th floor, where they can start their day with breakfast or end it at the heated swimming pool or the sauna.
The Hotel also has a business centre that is open 24 hours a day.
Fiesta is a five-star hotel and offers unique rooms in Lima, built using the loft architectural system, which a few years ago was deemed to be reserved for the bold and progressive, and which is well-known from American movies. No less than 66 duplex rooms are prepared to provide unforgettable accommodation to guests. Each room has air conditioning, flat screen TVs with cable television, fully stocked minibar, king size beds, digital safe-deposit box, and free Wi-Fi.
