Casino Inside magazine presents exclusively an event-interview with one of the most popular poker diva, Liz Lieu. We invite you to discover unusual things about Liz, from how she started his career in poker and if beauty matters to the table game.

First of all, how did you start your adventure in poker?

I started up by going up to the casino and watching people play for four hours. Then I said to myself “I can win too”, because I play Chinese poker since I am 13 and Texas Hold’em is much simpler. So I went back the next day to play and I won, then I started my own game and pretty much never looked back.

What type of poker do you enjoy playing more Texas Hold’em, Omaha or other?

In tournaments I like No Limit Hold’em, but I do no really have a preference I play whatever game I want to play at one moment.

Please describe your poker style. What type of a poker player are you?

I am described as a very aggressive player and I have no fear.

What do you like more cash games or tournaments?

I play both, before I used to love playing cash games but I’ve been playing tournaments for the last years, so I like to switch because I am good at both and either one is fine.

What attracts you more, live or online poker?

That is a good question! As long as it’s gambling and poker it does not matter, but sometimes online is better because you have the luxury of your home you do not have to go anywhere, you can just sit at home and “click” at the game table. In the same time, at the cash specials I have more advantage of sitting the table because of the motion and the little tiny details, things that you can actually see. So that is my advantage sitting on live tables. There is advantage and disadvantage in both.

Which was the poker tournament you liked best?

The World Series of Poker that’s by far the best, I like WSOP because all are top players and even though there is a few hundred of them there are no unknown faces.

What are your main strengths at the game table?

I guess that would be my style of play, a lot of people do not like to sit at my right, lets put it that way. Probably my advantage is that I am a no fear player, I will pound and pound, pretty much nobody can actually take the last bet. Also, I have been playin the game for so long that you know how they say, I can play with my eyes closed, so I got more of a experience.

I cannot help but notice you are a very beautiful woman. Does it matter at the table game?

No, to me it does not matter. A lot of people say that women have an advantage and I agree sometimes they do because men see them as week players and if a woman knows how to play than this is her advantage. But for me it is not like that, people already know who I am and do not underestimate me anymore but go out of their way just to say they knocked me out of the game, so this is not really an advantage.

What poker player do you admire most and why?

I admire a lot of people; there are a lot of talented players out there. I cannot name just one, because there is so many good players and everyone of them has a different technique and different personality, so I could name a dozen of good players, I cannot narrow it down to one. Now, there are too many talented players.

What are your future plans regarding to poker?

I am very supportive of the ISPT, because I think it is going to be great for poker and it will show to the world that poker is a game of skill and it is not gambling, because it just like basketball or football, being on a stadium with 30 players, poker it is a sport and that is what I am going to promote. Also, I want to see poker in Asia because a lot of Asians are good at this game, it is in their blood, so I want promote poker if  I can and I will keep playing of course.

What hobbies do you have? How do you spend your free time?

I hike a lot, I do yoga and meditation everyday and I spend a lot of time with my two cats. At least three times a year I go back to my country and do charity work. Also, I spend quality time with friends and family because to me the quality time I have with the people I care about and who care about me, is very important. Before, I used to draw myself into work and I was working 16-17 hours a day, 365 days of a year, but it is not like that anymore, because now I have a different outlook in life and I know how to appreciate more the little things.Revista Casino Inside vă prezintă în exclusivitate un interviu eveniment cu una dintre cele mai apreciate dive din poker, Liz Lieu. În primul rând, cum ai început aventura în lumea pokerului?

Am început prin a merge la cazinou într-o zi și uitându-mă la oameni cum jucau poker timp de patru ore. Ce tip de poker îți place să joci mai mult, Texas Hold’em, Omaha sau un altul?

În turnee îmi place No Limit Hold’em, dar nu am cu adevărat o preferință, joc orice am chef să joc în momentul respectiv.

Te rog descrie stilul tău de poker. Ce tip de jucător de poker ești?

Sunt descrisă drept un jucător foarte agresiv și nu am nici un pic de frică.

Ce preferi, cash games sau turneele?

Ce te atrage mai mult, pokerul online sau live?

Care sunt planurile tale de viitor în ceea ce privește pokerul?

Susțin foarte mult ISPT, deoarece cred că va fi extraordinar pentru poker și va demonstra lumii că pokerul este un joc al abilităților și nu unul de noroc, deoarece este exact ca baschetul sau fotbalul, cu 30 de jucători pe un stadion. Pokerul este un sport și asta voi promova. Ce hobby-uri ai? Cum îți petreci timpul liber?

Plec foarte des în excursii pe munte, practic yoga și meditația zilnic și petrec foarte mult timp cu cele două pisici ale mele. De cel puțin trei ori pe an mă întorc în țara mea unde conduc activități caritabile. De asemenea, petrec timp de calitate cu prietenii și familia, deoarece pentru mine acest timp de calitate cu oamenii la care țin și care țin la mine este foarte important.
