The sun, the beach, beautiful girls and of course a great deal of poker have turned the Eureka Golden Sands event into o successful one, where players have mixed business with pleasure enjoing a short vacation combined with the pleasure of playing within a major European tournament, Eureka Poker Tour.

The Onset

Eureka begun on the 4^th of June, as any tournament should, with a satellite (50€ + 5€, NLH Rebuy) for the Main Event, which was intended to be a good practice for the side vents and the main event to come.

5^th of June, 2 pm, the players present at the Golden Sands were once again invited by the organizers to the game tables of Grand Hotel & Casino International, this time, for a satellite (100€ + 10€ HLH Rebuy + Add On) for the High Roller, which was planned to begin with its first days of game at 5 pm with a buy-in of 1850€ + 150€. Starting with 8 pm, the organizers gave the players another chance to qualify to the Main Event by winning a package in the satellite tournament   NLH Freezeout of 100€ + 10€.

The third Eureka Golden Sands day, 6^th of June,  was the second day of the High Roller tournament in value of 1850€ + 150€, and this side event had a buy-in of 200€ + 20€, of NLH Turbo Freezeout and the day with a 150€ + 15€ NLH Turbo Freezout satellite for the Main Event.

Main Event

June the 7^th, 1A day of Eureka Poker Tour Golden Sands has offered a great show and a spectacular debut of the Main Event. Reviewing the technical information of the tournament we have to inform you that in the beginning of the tournament, a number of 246 players had paid a buy-in of 1.000€ + 100€, thus they have managed to attract a 238,620 Euro prize-pool.

A large number of Romanians were present in the Main Event, represented by le crème du la crème: Toni Județ (Poker Stars Team Pro Romania player), Andrei One, Iulian Ruxăndescu, Robert Cezărescu, Abdula Atila, Alain Medeșan and others. After the firs day of competition the chip-leader was Ted Stolzenbach from Holland with 136,800 chips.

8^th of June brought the Main Event day 1 B of Eureka Poker Tour Golden Sands and if the anterior day we have had 7 Romanian players present in the tournament, this second day of the competition a contingent of 19 players had subscribed, increasing the total number of Romanian players present in the Main Event, to 26. In the beginning of this day 123 players were playing and only 44 players gained access to the 2^nd day. On this day of the tournament Bulgara had a revival winning the first two places with Valentino Konakchiev – 107,600 chips and Desislav Velikov – 106,400 chips. Liszkovics Joco with 80,100 chips was the best rated Romanian. Among the Romanian players who had qualified to the next phase of the tournament we specify Cătălin Corocăescu with 75,800 chips and Ion Dragomir with 49,500 chips.

The 2^nd day of the Eureka Poker Tour Golden Sands Main Event offered a new challenge to the players who had remained in the contests. Several Romanian players succeeding good results were: Mihai Niște – 30^th place, Andrei One –15^th place and Ion Dragomir –13^th place. This day begun with 86 players and only 13 of them had qualified to further confrontation on the third day.

The Final Table of Eureka Poker Tour Golden Sands was difficult enough and the first player who left it was Nagy Barnabas from Hungary (who had qualified on PokerStars). The Hungarian was followed by Deyan Stanev who, in spite of his efforts toward a more sophisticated game had succeeded only a place 7. Daniel Carlsson from Sweden was the next player to leave the table followed by Michael Misterek from Poland (who had qualified on PokerStars). Slaven Popov from Bulgaria occupied the 4^th place and won a price of €17,300. The 3^rd place was won by the Holland representative, Ted Stolzenbach, who left the competition so that the Bulgarian Petar Zografov and Algiradas Saveikis from Lithuania could have dispute the grand prize in heads-up.

We have to mention that Zografov entered the heads-up with Algirdas having a 6 to 1 disadvantage, nevertheless he succeeded to win the first place with his excellently aggressive game; Zografov won less money than Algirdas though, because the two of them made a “deal” before the heads-up.

The Romanian players had put on a proud performance in Eureka Golden Sands both with their games and with the large number of representatives, thus our country was represented in all the poker events of the tournament by no more or less than 41 players, and it was on the second place in regard to number of players after Bulgaria with 81 players.

1^st Place. Petar Zografov, Bulgaria, who had qualified on PokerStars, €48,745?

3^rd Place. Ted Stolzenbach, Holland, who had qualified on PokerStars, €22,050

4^th Place. Slaven Popov, Bulgaria, €17,300

5^th Place. Michal Misterek, Poland, who had qualified on PokerStars, €14,300

6^th Place. Daniel Carlsson, Sweden, €11,900

7^th Place. Deyan Stanev, Bulgaria, €9,550

8^th Place. Debutul

Eureka a început aşa cum îi stă bine oricărui turneu pe data de 4 iunie, cu un satelit (50€ + 5€, NLH Rebuy) pentru Main Event, satelit care s-a dorit a fi un bun antrenament pentru side event-urile şi main event-ul care urmau să înceapă.

Pe 5 iunie începând cu ora 14, jucătorii prezenţi la Golden Sands au fost din nou invitaţi de către organizatori la mesele de joc din cadrul Grand Hotel & Casino International, de data aceasta la un satelit (100€ + 10€ HLH Rebuy + Add On) pentru High Roller-ul al cărui prime zile de joc aveau să debuteze la ora 17 cu un buy-in de  1850€ + 150€. Începând cu ora 20, organizatorii au oferit o nouă şansă jucătorilor de a se califica la Main Event câştigând un pachet la turneul satelit  NLH Freezeout de 100€ + 10€.

În cea de a treia zi a Eureka Golden Sands, pe 6 iunie, am avut parte de ziua a doua a turneului High Roller de 1850€ + 150€, un side event cu un buy-in de 200€ + 20€ NLH Turbo Freezeout şi un satelit de 150€ + 15€ NLH Turbo Freezout pentru Main Event.

Pe 7 iunie ziua 1A la Eureka Poker Tour Golden Sands a oferit un spectacol pe cinste și un început de Main Event specataculos. Trecând în revistă datele tehnice ale turneului, vă informăm că la începutul turneului s-au prezentat 246 de playeri care au plătit un buy-in de 1,000€ + 100€, reușind să atragă un prize-pool de 238.620 euro.

8 iunie a oferit jucătorilor Main Event ziua 1 B la Eureka Poker Tour Golden Sands și dacă în ziua precedentă am avut un număr de 7 români prezenți la turneu, în această a doua zi de competiție România a fost reprezentată de un contingent de 19 jucători, ducând la un total de 26 numărul total al jucătorilor români prezenți la Main Event. La startul acestei zile am avut 123 de jucători din care au acces către ziua a 2-a, 44 de playeri. Bulgarii au avut un reviriment în această zi de turneu câștigând primele 2 locuri prin Valentino Konakchiev cu 107,600 fise și Desislav Velikov cu 106,400 fise. Cel mai bine clasat român a fost Liszkovics Joco cu 80,100 de chipsuri. Dintre jucătorii români care au mers mai departe în turneu mai enumerăm pe Cătălin Corocăescu cu 75,800 de fise și Ion Dragomir cu 49,500 de fise.

Ziua 2 a Main Event-ului Eureka Poker Tour Golden Sands a oferit o nouă provocare jucătorilor rămași în concurs. Dintre jucătorii români consemnăm câteva rezultate bune: Mihai Niște – locul 30, Andrei One – locul 15 și Ion Dragomir – locul 13. Această zi a început cu 86 de playeri din care doar un total de 13 jucători au mai rămas pentru a se înfrunta în ziua a treia.

Masa finală de la Eureka Poker Tour Golden Sands a fost una destul de grea şi primul care a părăsit-o a fost ungurul Nagy Barnabas (calificat pe PokerStars). Ungurul a fost urmat de Deyan Stanev care deşi a încercat un joc mai elaborat, nu a reuşit mai mult de locul 7. Următorul care a părăsit masa finală a fost Daniel Carlsson din Suedia care a fost urmat de polonezul Michael Misterek (calificat pe PokerStars). Pe locul 4 s-a clasat bulgarul Slaven Popov care a reuşit să plece acasă şi cu €17,300. Pe locul 3 a venit rândul reprezentantului Olandei, Ted Stolzenbach, să iasă din concurs şi să lase loc astfel bulgarului Petar Zografov şi lituanianului Algiradas Saveikis să îşi dispute câştigarea marelul premiu la heads-up.

Trebuie menţionat că Zografov a intrat la heads-up cu Algirdas având un dezavantaj de 6 la 1 şi cu toate acestea prin jocul său agresiv excelent a reuşit să câştige locul întâi. Chiar dacă a câştigat locul 1, Zografov a plecat cu mai puţini bani decât Algirdas  pentru că înainte de heads-up cei doi au făcut “deal”.

Jucătorii din România au făcut o figură frumoasă la Eureka Golden Sands atât prin  joc, cât şi prin prezenţa numeroasă, astfel că ţara noastră a fost reprezentată de nu mai puţin de 41 de jucători la toate evenimentele pokeristice de aici, reușind astfel să ne clasăm pe locul 2 ca şi prezenţă după Bulgaria care a fost reprezentată de 81 de playeri.

Clasamentul final și premiile în bani au fost:
