At the end of the year, NOVOMATIC Romania draws an optimistic summary, despite the insecurity that the industry has faced. With redesigned strategies, but always customer-oriented, the Group has managed to tick successful campaigns both for the B2B segment and the operational one, for the three brands recognized by customers: ADMIRAL, ADMIRAL Online and TYPE & CASH SPORTS BETS.

Every restriction that targeted the industry also led to re-evaluated business plans. We are at the end of the second year of the pandemic, and I am satisfied that, together with my team, we have managed through the campaigns addressed to the partners and the focus on the online segment, to maintain our stability in the industry. None of us have been prepared for 2020: sporting events were canceled and the casino floors were closed or, at best, operated within restrictions. So, we decided to stay vigilant and prepared for a difficult period from the beginning of 2021. In parallel, we have all noticed that the online sector has grown exponentially and, although the restrictions have risen periodically, its popularity persisted. In this sense, I have every indication that 2022 will be an even better year for the online gambling industry.” said Valentin-Adrian Goergescu, CEO of NOVOMATIC Romania.

According to the “Gambling: Global Market Opportunities & Strategies to 2022” report, online and offline projections will exceed $ 565 billion by the end of the year. This demonstrates a growth rate of almost 6% per year. As far as online is concerned, the picture is even more optimistic. Figures from Juniper Research suggest that the total value of online betting could reach $ 1 trillion. Although the figures vary depending on the polls, they all show a CAGR of over 10% in overall growth. Based on a 12% CAGR, we can expect the value of online gambling to exceed $ 112 billion by 2025.


Global forecasts have outlined the focus of online and land base campaigns

The messages for the customers have focused on their new needs, which meant, first of all, the extension of the player experience, from online to the casino floor and from the game room to the home comfort, in safe conditions. One year after taking over the platform, the new team relies on the experience gained in managing the land base vertical brand. The strategy aims to provide exclusive benefits that can be used simultaneously.  October also brought a novelty, because the ADMIRAL casino floors launched a new campaign, with prizes totaling 1,300,000 RON in Bucharest and Ilfov. Out of care and responsibility towards the environment, the prizes for the big draws of the campaign also consist of 4 electric cars.

NOVOMATIC Romania maintained its list of achievements in 2021 as well

At the beginning of the year, out of the need to reset the strategies and support the industry, NOVOMATIC Romania decided to bring new benefits in the “CELEBRATE & WIN TOGETHER!” campaign, which was launched the previous year, on the occasion of the three decades of market activity. Extending the benefits was a business decision based on customer needs, but also on their positive feedback (they stated they felt solidarity and support). The campaign proved to be effective for strengthening business relations in a difficult period and generated added value for both parties.
