ROMANIA IS A TOP PERFORMER FOR MERKUR GAMING

Over the past few years Merkur Gaming has become a trusted and respected supplier across the Balkan region. Nowhere more so than in Romania, the brand has become one of the most appreciated for operators throughout the country, based on the local subsidiary company’s total commitment to providing great products, outstanding performance and impeccable service

Merkur’s local presence in Romania is headed by Managing Director Hannelore Fuica, who has more than a decade of experience with the company. She has steered her 9-strong team successfully through the worst ravages of the Covid pandemic and now, as conditions gradually ease, she is highly optimistic about the future of gaming in Romania.

One major reason for that optimism is the work of Merkur’s R&D team in Germany (where a dedicated team supporting the Romanian market was established) and the resulting new products to be being announced in the very near future.

Hannelore highlighted some of the new games, commenting first on the game types that have consistently proved popular with both operators and players. “Romania is mainly a fruit game  market when looking at both slot halls and sports betting segment. Either small or large locations, they  all share two common game themes as popular attractions: Fruit games and in the last few years, the  Roulette. When deciding on the new game developments in 2020 to introduce with our latest cabinets, Allegro and Max Trio, I requested a new roulette product. I wanted not just a roulette game but one dedicated to the romanian players and that is exactly what is about to be launched. The Merkur Roulette has superb 3D graphics, a stunning new animation of the roulette wheel itself and enhanced speed of play characteristic that I just know is going to make it a real winner. In slot games we have some great new titles. Fruit Burst with 50, 10, 20 and 40 lines is a high action game that is just the kind of attraction that players are looking for, following the already established games like Wishing Well, Shaking Flames, in 5,20 and 40 lines format and the historic adventure, Flames of Egypt. Our development team in Germany have done great work and I am sure that these, and other, new games will excite and keep the attention of the Romanian players.”

Merkur Gaming Romania has proved to be a real star in what is the largest gaming market in the Balkan region and Sakis Isaakidis, Merkur’s Chief Executive, International was quick to praise Hannelore and her team. “Romania is a hugely important market for the Merkur brand. Throughout the Covid crisis our local team have continued to provide top line sales and service while also maintain the relationships that are the foundation of our business. Sadly, the 2021 Arena Entertainment Expo could not be held, due to Covid restrictions, but is already fixed on the calendar for September 6th to 8Th 2022 in Bucharest. We will be there and I expect that many of our new games will be firm favourites with players by then. Our local in-country team, under the leadership of Hannelore, will have the full support of our German HQ as they continue their great work in the future and as Covid restrictions continue to ease. The Merkur Sun continues to shine brightly and I am certain will bring even greater success in the future.”
