Newton comes to the support of gambling hall and casino owners with an application that helps them to comply with the new legal provisions regarding access, self-exclusion and blacklisting of players.

According to Law No 326/2022, published in the Official Gazette on 29 November 2022, which amended Government Emergency Ordinance No 77 of 2009 on the organization and operation of gambling, organizers of gambling are responsible for fulfilling the following obligations:

• to have the necessary technical means to set up databases on self-excluded and undesirable persons with a view to obtaining a gambling license;
• to identify persons entering premises where gambling activities are carried out and to keep a record, in electronic format, of their identification data, the databases thus constituted being archived by the operator and kept for a period of at least 5 years from their creation;
• the obligation to establish, in electronic format, databases on self-excluded and non-eligible persons, the databases thus established being archived by the operator and kept for at least 5 years after their creation.

With the new provisions in mind, Newton has created the Newton Vision app. An application that facilitates the scanning of players’ identity documents when they enter the casino floors, and then gives them the option to self-exclude.

The app makes it quick and easy to scan players’ IDs as they enter the venue, eliminating the need for manual registration and reducing waiting time.
