In this article I propose an introspection into a world that, at first sight, will seem more technical by the nature of our work, but which you will find so human in the end. Atom Gaming has managed in this difficult period for everyone to provide support and technical assistance to all its customers, gambling operators, and last but not least flexible ways to settle the services offered. In addition, in this material I would like to draw your attention to an important moment, namely the challenge launched by the National Bank of Romania by putting into circulation the new 20 lei banknote to be made soon.
Covid 19: Opportunities vs. Weaknesses
If we are to address the challenges we all face in the context of the resurgence of the pandemic, it is quite difficult to talk about new short-term opportunities in this sector. Although the approach of the authorities has changed, opting to maintain the operation of certain types of activities, including gambling, we know very well that the number of players is drastically reduced due to restrictions on access to space, due to the low percentage of vaccination
If in the spring or summer the major problems were closely related to the measures taken by the authorities, nowadays, the difficulties encountered are due to the attitude of the general population, namely the participation in a very low percentage in vaccination actions. I think we are all aware that only through a collective effort all areas of activity will remain open and implicitly the game rooms.
Flexible ways to settle the services offered
I don’t know if we could talk about new requirements, but rather our partners have shown an increased interest in the flexible ways of settling the services offered.
From the feedback received, we also found that the support provided by us, through the free recalibration of the acceptors, was appreciated by the whole community. We all know that in the last year a large number of slots could not be used full time due to the restrictions imposed, and when the activity resumed, certain equipment/payment systems did not work properly, in many cases due to imbalance. The fact that the operators who found themselves in this situation could have the payment systems in working order back on the game means, in the shortest possible time, for us meant the fulfillment of a self-proposed objective.

Because these measures have been a real help, we have continued to provide technical support and assistance this fall and will continue to do so in the future. I still think that the technical assistance service is very useful because any problem that arises in the field is important to be remedied as soon as possible, especially now that we do not know very clearly for how long we will continue our work or under what conditions.
The challenges of the new 20 lei banknote to be put into circulation by the NBR
After a period of postponement, the National Bank of Romania officially announced that at the end of this year, the new banknote will be issued and put into circulation, with a nominal value of 20 lei.
I would like to draw your attention to this moment! In the event that this name will be present in the market, with the current software versions installed, payment systems will not be able to accept it. Thus, we have decided to make every effort to have the new software versions that accept this banknote as soon as possible for a wide range of acceptors now in use.
Because in the period we are going through it is important to support each other, we decided that this type of update should be free for existing customers, regardless of the number of acceptors.
The covid pandemic did not change the customer profile
The profile of Atom Gaming customers has not changed because we work directly with gambling operators, but I believe that this market will be influenced by the pandemic situation. We see how certain operators have to apply cost optimization measures to stay in the market. It is known that the pandemic has already targeted a large number of customers online, and the restrictions do nothing but increase this number.
