AOJND President Odeta Nestor attended ICE London.
Discussions on online gambling will continue in Bucharest, in an event with international participation
Odeta Nestor, President of AOJND, attended ICE London, one of the most prestigious events in the gambling industry. On this occasion, Odeta Nestor met representatives of several similar associations from other European countries as well as representatives of the online gambling industry.
“It was a professional opportunity but also a pleasure to meet again the relevant people of the industry. The topics discussed in the more than 20 meetings held on the sidelines of the ICE focused mainly on three areas: European legislation, the role of artificial intelligence in gambling and, of course, the issue of responsible gambling. We found that we have, for the most part, common concerns and challenges and, therefore, we agreed with some of those present to continue the debates in Bucharest, in a high profile event that we plan to organize in the coming period”, said Odeta Nestor, AOJND President.
An important part of the discussions in the margins of the ECI focused on a topic that AOJND is already working on with its EGBA partners. It is about efforts to identify and set standards that will create a sustainable online gambling environment where players can enjoy safe, quality experiences in a fair and efficient regulated environment.
“Technology and especially artificial intelligence are increasingly providing tools that operators are successfully using in the process of transforming and modernising the online gambling industry. It is very important to exchange ideas, it is important to bring together multiple experiences, because in this way we will be able to identify the best solutions”, said Odeta Nestor.
ICE London took place from 12-14 April and brought together professionals from 158 jurisdictions and no fewer than 5,000 meetings, according to the event organisers, who created a special app to facilitate interaction between participants.
In November 2021, AOJND together with the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) organised the event with the theme “Using Technological Advances to Better Manage Responsible Gambling”. Organised online in the form of a webinar, due to pandemic restrictions, the event brought together Romanian and international experts. They discussed the challenges of online gambling and stressed the need to continue to address relevant topics for the industry in future meetings.
The Association of Remote Gambling Organisers (AOJND) was established in 2017 out of a desire to bring the leading remote gambling operators under one roof, for clear industry representation. The Association’s main purpose is to promote and protect the rights and interests of remote gambling operators licensed in Romania. AOJND members are: Betfair, eFortuna, Netbet, PokerStars, SportingBet, Stanleybet, Unibet, Baumbet, Betano, Circus, Maxbet, Efbet, Public Win, WinMaster.
