The great London tenis tournament has already started. We stopped at this important Grand Slam tournament for the special charm it casts on tennis fans and bettors. It is true that in summer time tennis gives us the greatest number and the most interesting bets, at least until the start of the great European Championships.

In addition to male and female games (of course, and the double ones too), in addition to bets on the winner of the match, with which we are already accustomed, a big tennis tournament offers us many opportunities that can be found in the Special bets section. But, let us examine them herein, with some more attention:

Who will win the tournament?

At the start of the tournament was considered the serbian, Novak Djokovic is considered the great favorite with a rate of 2.10, followed by the Scotsman Andy Murray, with 4.33 and the new winner of Roland Garros, Rafael Nadal with 5.00. In the meanwhile Spaniard has been eliminated by the belgian Steve Dacris. The Swiss Guide Roger Federer, 7 times winner on the London’s grass is ranked fourth, with 9.00 odds. At great distance, comes the Frenchman Tsonga with 26.00. Is very difficult to make appraisals by watching the game board, but we have reservations in relation to the odds for Nole’s victory that seems under-dimensioned, while Tsonga could put on a proud performance and go at least up to the semifinals.

In the women’s tournament, Serena Williams is the favorite with an almost unbelievable small rate 1.40. The odd is surely influenced by the excellent form shown by Serena this year …but on the grass a landslide is possible at any time. At a great distance comes the no. 2 favorite, Maria Sharapova, with 6.00, followed by Victoria Azarenka with 11.00. Our bet is on Angelique Kerber (7th favorite on the main board) with 67.00 odd. The odds above are given by Bet365.com

Who will serve more Aces?

Considered to be the players with the most solid game, Milos Raonic and John Isner seem the main choices for the best servant of the tournament. So far this year, the Canadian Raonic has a personal record of 346 Aces, while Isner is already at 362. The only problem is that none of them went further then the second round on London’s grass. Under these circumstances, many eyes are turning to the Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Last year he made it to the semifinal here and comes after another semi-final at Roland Garros which shows that it has a great zest for the game this year. Until the beginning of the tournament he has served 287 aces, so it doesn’t seem quite an impossible mission. Sam Querrey and Andy Murray also seem to be in the books for the best servant of this tournament, but we should not underestimate, not even for a second, the last year’s champion. The one who served 50 Aces in a single game in 2009, the one that owns 7 titles, Roger Federer.

However, many tennis specialists are skeptical that the record number of Aces served along the tournament will be broke this year. This record dates back to 2001 and belongs to Goran Ivanisevic who served 212 Aces on his way to the title.

Tsonga is the favorite with Skybet.com with a 7.00 odd, followed by Andy Murray with 8.00. Miloš Raonic also has an 8.00 odd at Bwin, while John Isner has 9.50 odds at Paddy Power.

Who will have the fastest service?

A similar bet  to the one above except that it has less pressure on the winner. A bomb service is enough.  Raonic and Isner are the also the favorites here. To them, Tsonga, Murray, Janowicz and Berdych add up.

The surprise could come from the Coatian Ivo Carlovic which fell 151 positions in the ATP classification but, when having the second fastest service in history he is a worthy to consider possibility at any time.

Both Isner and Raonic have 4.50 odds with Bwin, while Tsonga has 6.00 at Skybet, the same odd received also by Janowicz with Ladbrokes.

Not to lose a set?

This is a interesting bet and an attractive odd of 4.00 given by Youwin to Serena Williams. Therefore, is Serena not to lose a set throughout the tournament? After winning the French Open (on a surface that is not to her likings) the American is in maximum shape for the London tournament.

What will be the lasting time of the longest match?

Isner and Mahut in 2011 have played a game that went on for three days.

Thus the concern of the bookmakers in regard to the lasting time of the matches is entitled: Ladbrokes offers 1.83 odds for the longest match at this tournament that could exceed 4 hours and 30 minutes while Betfred offers odds of 2.00 for the longest game without exceeding the duration of 4 hours and 30 minutes.Text: Mircea Panait
