One of the most recent news about Sweden is about the budgetary surplus the country recored in 2016, generated by “too much” tax paid by the citizens, after the banks considerably dropped interest rates, according to Financial Times. Well, when it comes to gambling, things are not less spectacular. Even if there are only four live casinos in the entire country, the comprise all that gambling has to offer for a country like Sweden, that seems to not let anything to chance – and this is easily to see when looking at the architecture of the buildings housing the casinos.
The already mentioned casinos belonged to the state company called Casino Cosmopol, which owns the monopoly regarding the running of live casinos. These are located in four important cities of the country – Sundsvall, Malmö, Göthenburg și Stockholm. Laws in Sweden prohibit private operators to run casinos, hence the total interference from the state. Checks are strict at the entrance of each of the four casinos: visitors need to have an ID, and a fee is also imposed. Those who want to become members can get an access card with one year availability.
The first of the four casinos is Sundsvall, located in the interior of a former station. Among the things that are especially impressive about this casino is the Casiopeija restaurant, many times awarded for its delicacies. The casino has 15 table games, 150 slot machines and it’s opened from Monday till Friday between 3 PM – 3 AM and during weekends between 1 PM – 3 AM. Also, the casino has a poker room – in which there are two table games so one can play wither the Hold’em version or Omaha. As for electronic game machines, players can enjoy the old version of slots – reel type one, video slots, but also progressive jackpot slots.
