The New DGL PRO Motherboard brings reliability, Software Optimization and Safe Operation

The DGL PRO Company, which is one of the largest game device manufacturers in Romania and one of the largest suppliers of spare parts for the operators in Romania, is constantly coming up with products tailored to market demand.

Now, the company is preparing to launch a new motherboard, which brings up a second monitor, an integrated processor, as well as the implementation of a protocol for automating the process of payment. Marius Stoi, General Manager of the company, revealed for Casino Inside which are the news brought by the new board and what changes it brings to customers, the gaming operators on the market.

How did you prepare the 0 series of the new DGL PRO motherboard?

At our last discussion the new DGL PRO motherboard was a project. Meanwhile we passed the prototype stage and have made the first10 pieces. Now we are practically at the 0 series, but we have to put implement them in the field, to see how they run, that is, to actually do the tests.

What novelties does this board bring?

First, it comes with the second active monitor, whereas in the past the second monitor purpose was mainly to show some pictures. It is active, i.e. at the time of changing the bets, the display on the upper monitor is also changing, i.e. winnings table. Secondly, one important thing is the implementation of a SAS protocol on this board, because everyone wants to have the control and thus one can automate the process of payments.

In other words, the board can be linked to a ticket-in, ticket-out system, or payments could be made from the cashier’s office. A player may block the device when he wants to leave the game, he goes to the cashier, verifies the credit, which he may cancel and then the money are being paid to him. After the payment was made, the device is unlocked. Also, a jackpot system can be implemented on the SAS protocol. I may be a local system of the one room, or of several rooms. At the same time, we will also implement a ID003 protocol for banknote acceptors and at the end of the year, a touchscreen, which will be implemented on the primary monitor.

All the hard drive of the board has been completely changed, so that we may perform all these changes, because on that old hard drive it was impossible due to the fact that the parts for it were difficult to find. The old motherboard was designed in 2006-2007, and since then it has evolved greatly. The first Club Master boar was made by pulling the wires, but now the situation has changed.

Technology has evolved greatly, during the ’86- ’87, when I finished high school, I was connected to the domain, in the sense that I was reading scientific and technical magazines, but I never imagined that I will come to work at such an advanced level as I do now.

Our old plates are now obsolete in terms of the hard drive. We’ve made a few modifications on them, but these were not major changes, which are essential. The last modification on the old board was the replacement of all resistors, SMD-Capacitors. Basically we have replaced a capsule with another capsule.

The new board no longer has a processor as a separate entity; it is now integrated into a FPGi conA, a universal circuit that can be configured. Virtually all core is integrated inside, along with the video controller. So it is no longer a separate entity.

To which type of client does the new board address to and how much does it cost?

The target consists of the small gaming rooms, we serve customers from the street gaming area, because the large room purchase from the leading manufacturers. The sale price lies somewhere between 400 to 450 euros. We are addressing to the clients with a lower budget.

Among its advantages I would also recall reliability, because the system is much more integrated. First, consumption of the board has decreased very much, and the board becomes much more reliable because it no longer heats up. The most important thing for a player is safety during operation; the product must operate equally even if the external parameters are changed. It is known that the boards in street gaming area do not work under laboratory conditions. Safety is also provided by the software optimization. The more optimized it is and the fewer resources it uses, the more reliable it is. This provides safety during the operation of the board.

I would also remind you that, as a company, we have made constant upgrades, because we’ve been in touch with the operators and we received feedbacks. We have always corrected what we were told that it is not operational.

Other notable sections in the casino include the hip and trendy lounges for the young at heart and the exclusive International and VIP Room – the place to be for high stakes gaming exclusively for selected Genting Rewards Card members and invited guests.

Casino de GENTING’s history is intertwined with the famous resort. Genting’s founder, Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong had a dream of building a world-class hill resort, and part of that dream was the establishment of a casino that would rival any in Asia. On 28 April 1969, he submitted an application for a casino license to the then Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman. To this day, the Casino de GENTING is the first and only casino in Malaysia.

History of Success

Opening in 1971 at the same time as the Genting Resort, the Casino de GENTING offered thirty tables with games like Blackjack, Tai Sai, Roulette and French Boule, as well as a selection of “one-armed-bandits” – the characteristic lever-powered slot machines that we all know and love. The casino was then located where Theme Park hotel stands today.

Growing Phase

Over the next few years, the Casino de GENTING grew by leaps and bounds. By the 1980s, the casino had more than doubled in size in terms of staffs, tables and the number of slots machine. To cater to the increasing demand of the players, the Casino de GENTING moved to the Highlands Hotel in the late 1980s.

From then onwards, the casino expanded further to cover three hotels throughout the resort and diversified its types of game and décor to cater to the players. It was at this time that specially themed areas such as Monte Carlo and Hollywood were opened, sporting unique backdrops and colourful themes. As the casino grew, so did its clientele.

Soon, players began to visit from all over the world including the United States, Macau, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Europe. As a challenge to these players, the casino organised the first major baccarat and blackjack tournaments in 1995 with over RM (Ringgit – national currency in Malayesia; 1 Euro is 4.45 Ringgits) 500,000 in prize money.

Since then, the casino has grown from strength to strength, keeping itself up to date with the times. To that end, on 26 November 2004, the Casino de GENTING marked the opening of a contemporary gaming venue located in the First World Hotel that boasts the latest gaming technology such as electronic table games, cashless gaming systems for its slot machines, and a café that serves delicious snacks and coffee.

In its commitment to offer an enhanced gaming experience, the Casino de GENTING launched the latest themed outlet known as @Latté on 19 march 2005, amidst great fanfare and live performances. In addition to cutting edge slot machines, @Latté brews up some of the finest coffee in Asia for coffee aficionados.

In present day, the casino has numerous table games when you can flirt with the luck: Baccarat/Mini Baccarat, BlackJack, Roulette, Casino War, Three Card Poker, Pontoon, French Boule, Mini Dice, Tai Sai, Money Wheel, and others.

Also, the Casino de GENTING has a lots of slot machines from biggest producers in the world. 426 table games are prepared for the players.

Men “The Master” Nguyen

Men Nguyen is a vietnamese-american professional poker player and is known on the international poker circuit as “The Master.” In addition to the admiration he garners due to his expert play, Men is famous for his caring nature. He has contributed a great deal to communities in his native Vietnam, and provided for those in need in New York City after the attacks of September 11, 2001.

In 1967, he dropped out of school at age 13 and became a bus driver to help support his family. In early 1978, a staunch anti-Communist, he escaped from the Communist regime of Vietnam by boat and sailed with 87 compatriots to Pulau Besar in Malaysia. In 1978, he received political asylum from the United States and settled in Los Angeles, California.

Nguyen didn’t speak English and couldn’t get work for three months. He took three english classes every weekday. Finally, three months later, Men got a part-time job as a furniture delivery man tables, chairs, and sofa beds. He made $10 a day. When he was able to speak english a little bit he got a job as a machinist. That’s what he did for almost eight years.

In 1986 he became an American citizen. In 1984 he went on a junket to Las Vegas and played poker for the first time in his life. He continued to go every weekend and lose hundreds of dollars, earning him the nickname “Money Machine”.

Men Nguyen began playing tournaments in 1986. One day, he went to the Dunes to play high-low and there was no game, everyone was at the Stardust playing in the tournament. He took a cab there and saw that Bob Thompson (famous tournament director) was running a Seven-Card Stud Eight-or-Better tournament. He entered and finished eighth. There were more than 300 players and the buy-in was $330. Johnny Moss won first place. Nguyen loved the excitement and a year later he won his first tournament. It was at the Bicycle Club…a Diamond Jim Brady Eight-or-Better event.

With his poker earnings, he opened a dry cleaning business and furniture store, but sold them in 1990 because they took too much of his time and didn’t make enough money. Through these businesses he would, however, meet and work with many Vietnamese people who would fall under his tutelage.

Nguyen met his future wife, Van, in Vietnam. He eventually brought her to the United States, where they settled in Bell Gardens, California. They have 3 children. Van Nguyen learned poker from her husband. She won the World Poker Tour Celebrity Invitational in March 2008, becoming the first woman to ever win a WPT mixed event.

Nguyen has over 120 finishes in the money from 2000 to 2004, and has won more than 75 tournaments. Nguyen is known for tutoring players, many of whom go on to be successful in their own right, including his cousins David Pham, Minh Nguyen, and his wife Van Nguyen. At one time, Benny Behnen, grandson of Benny Binion, believed Nguyen trained more tournament winners than anyone else. Men receives a portion of some of his students’ winnings. In 1991 one of his students gave him the nickname “The Master,” and now he is widely known as “Men the Master.” He donates a portion of the money he earns through tournaments and tutoring to charities in Vietnam, and in 1996, with the earnings from his final-table finish in the World Series of Poker, built a kindergarten in Vietnam.

While allegations have been made regarding Nguyen’s possible involvement with tournament cheating, nothing has been proven and Nguyen has consistently denied any such actions. As of 2011, his total live tournament winnings exceed $10,300,000. His 78 cashes as the WSOP account for $3,151,075 of those winnings.

Men “The Master” Nguyen is an unlikely messiah. He is loud, brash and borders on abusive at times at the poker table. He is a smoker and a drinker and has even left a WSOP Final Table in no condition to legally drive. But according to more voices Men Nguyen has also been the best card player in the world over the past decade.

Men Nguyen has his own stable of protégés. They are novice gamblers, many of them from his own native Vietnam and are required to live by Men’s rules: 2 am curfew, no drugs, no sex with other players’ spouses and above all else, if the Master says it then the Student better do it. Many of Men’s former students have gone on to major tournament success – most notably two-time WSOP bracelet winner David “The Dragon” Pham.

Men’s own poker credentials are as impressive as any:

Men Nguyen has remained an influential force in Vietnam through the financing of two different schools in his homeland as well as offering tutelage to recent Vietnamese immigrants searching for a viable livelihood in the US.

He is a cherished member of the LA community and has been featured in an article for the May 15, 2003 edition of the magazine LA Weekly. Men lives in Bell Gardens, Southern California.

PCA 2014- poker and adrenaline blast

The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure proved to be another huge success in 2014, despite the best attempts of a freak weather system that hit the United States grounding flights in the lead up to the Main Event. Although no fewer than 39 poker events took place in the Bahamas at the PCA, three of them were highlighted either by number of players entered, either by the amounts they earned: the $25,000 High Roller Event, the $100,000 Super High Roller Event and of course, the Pearl Crown, $ 10,300 PCA Main Event.

The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure has an uncanny habit of unearthing new talents. Each of the former champions John Gale, Ryan Daut, Steve Paul-Ambrose, Poorya Nazari, Harrison Gimbel, Galen Hall and John Dibella recorded the first major score of their careers in Paradise Island, each outlasting stacked fields and terrifying final tables to prevail.

Also at the 2014 PCA Main Event we can add to their ranks a young Polish player named Dominik Panka, who upset all the form books, as well as the history writers, to win one of the toughest finals ever witnessed on the tour.

The $10.300 PCA Main Event

Date: January 7-13, 2014
Buy-in: $10.300
Players: 1.031
Prize pool: $10.070.000

The PCA Main Event pulled in 1.031 players to break through the huge $10m guarantee that had been put up. That enormous prize pool ended up paying the top three finishers more than a million bucks apiece. That trio was made up of online phenomenon Isaac “westmenloAA” Baron, breakthrough Polish talent Dominik Panka, who went on to take the title after a three-way chop, and EPT Dortmund champ Mike “Timex” McDonald.

„Timex”, who had days earlier cashed in the Super High Roller for more than $217k with less than one big blind, had looked like he might finally break the EPT jinx: no one had won two EPT Main Event titles in more than 90 tournaments. It was close, but it wasn’t to be. McDonald had to settle for second place, despite at one point being one card away from victory. Panka had played fantastically, and Team PokerStars Online’s Ike Haxton wasn’t backward on lavishing praise on his play during the PCA Live webcast. You simply don’t get a bigger stamp of approval than that.

1. Dominik Panka, Poland, PokerStars qualifier, $1.423.096
2. Mike McDonald, Canada, PokerStars qualifier, $1.064.865
3. Isaac Baron, USA, $1.207.599
4. Madis Muur, Estonia, PokerStars qualifier, $581.040
5. Daniel Gamez, Guatemala, $447.040
6. Shyam Srinivasan, Canada, PokerStars qualifier, $328.020
7. Pascal LeFrancois, Canada, PokerStars player, $242.020
8. Fabian Ortiz, Argentina, $173.220

The $25.000 High Roller

Date: January 10-13, 2014
Buy-in: $25.000
Game: NLHE 8-handed re-entry
Entries: 247
Prize pool: $6.051.500

If you were ever in doubt as to whether Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst is one of the best players in the world, you only need to look at her PCA performance this year. She cashed in all three of the blue ribbon events and almost won two of them. There’s variance and then there’s Selbst. The American took third in both events, but almost took first in the $25k High Roller for the second year on the bounce. It would have been her second major title defence following back-to-back NAPT Mohegan Sun wins.

Once Selbst was out of the picture, Jake Schindler and WSOP Main Event winner Greg Merson chopped up a deal and then settled the event in true High Roller style: they shoved and called blind.

1. Jake Schindler, USA, $1.192.624
2. Greg Merson, USA, $948.996
3. Vanessa Selbst, USA, Team PokerStars Pro, $607.580
4. Mustapha Kanit, $492.600
5. Robert Mizrachi, USA, $389.720
6. Aleksandr Denisov, $295.920
7. Ole Schemion, Germany, $216.040
8. Joao Viera, Portugal, $157.960

The $100.000 Super High Roller

Date: January 5-7, 2014
Buy-in: $100.000
Entries:: 56 (45 unique)
Prize pool: $5.433.120

The $100.000 Super High Roller has become the opening event of the poker calendar ever since Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov beat Daniel Negreanu heads-up at the PCA in 2011. It is never disappointing. A fascinating nine-handed dance took place with some incredibly shallow stacks, but it was Brit Paul Newey who finally burst a bubble worth $100,000’s. It must have been painful, but Newey later cashed in the High Roller to get a good chunk of both those buy-ins back.

Fabian Quoss continued in a fine line of German dominance in big buy-in events, and the end, at the final hand, the German made a straight after he had in his hands , and the American . On the table came   and , and Quoss won. Poker may well be a skill game, but that doesn’t mean you don’t need a touch of luck from time to time.

1. Fabian Quoss, Germany, $1.629.940
2. Dan Shak, United States, $1.178.980
3. Vanessa Selbst, United States, $760.640
4. Antonio Esfandiari, United States, $575.920
5. Matt Glantz, United States, $445.520
6. Tony Gregg, United States, $347.720
7. Ole Schemion, Austria, $277.080
8. Mike McDonald, Canada, $217.320

The sacred gambling trinity in Finland -The story of a harsh yet profitable monopoly-

-by Oana Mihalache

Finland is a Nordic country situated in the Fennoscandian region of Northern Europe. Officially known as the Republic of Finland, the country is bordered by Sweden to the west, Norway to the north, Russia to the east and Estonia to the south, across the Gulf of Finland. The population reached 5.4 million and the majority of it lives in the southern regions of the country. Finland is the eighth largest country in Europe. From an institutional point of view, Finland is a parliamentary republic with a central government based in the capital of Helsinki.

The separation within the gambling industry

Gambling has grown steadily in Finland since the early 1990s, and is now legal, but the laws are complicated. The gambling industry is monopolizes and the main market is divided among three bodies which are largely owned and controlled by the Finnish government. Each body oversees a different aspect of gambling: Fintoto controls horse race betting, Veikkaus deals with other sports betting, along with the national lottery. All types of slot machines and table games are overseen by RAY, the Slot Machine Association that operates the Casino and casino table games, as well as slot machines.

A good aspect of the Finnish gambling is that all profits resulted are funneled back towards the people, funds being used for social improvement programs and health care.

Legislation and policy in gambling

Gambling activities in Finland are subject to strict state control and monitoring. Players are offered legal protection by the public authority, which struggles to prevent abuse and criminal activity related to gambling. The Parliament and the Government are the two political entities that are responsible with the decisions regarding the gambling policy.

Provisions governing Finland’s gambling system and its operators are laid down in the Lotteries Act. Apart from the three operators licensed under the act (Fintoto Oy, RAY and Veikkaus), no other foreign or domestic operator is allowed to market or offer their games in Finland.

Even though the EU has put tremendous pressure on Finland to break open this state monopoly and to allow other companies to offer gambling in Finland, actions have been put on hold. This is due to a state of position by the Finnish government that insisted on the not-for-profit nature of the gambling industry in their country.

A Finnish Strip

Gambling is very popular in Finland, and studies reveal that around 8 out of 10 Finns gamble at least occasionally, and half of them weekly. The average amount spent by a Finn on gambling is 14 Euros per week. Another interesting fact is that near to 80% of those who play buy lottery tickets, but around 5% of the gamers are real high rollers, accounting for half of all the spending on gambling in Finland. The facilities for gambling in Finland include: 1 Casino, 43 racetracks, 76 gaming arcades, more than 250 restaurants with casino table games, 4.000 game retails outlets and 20.000 slot machines.

The latest study provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health in 2011 shows that 78% of the Finns (aged 15-74) gamble occasionally. The same study revealed that 2.7% of the population, representing 110.000 persons, have gambling issues.

Grand Casino Helsinki – a major attraction and a funds reservoir

Grand Casino Helsinki is the only international gaming casino in Finland and unique on a global scale in at least one point. Its uniqueness is given by the fact that ALL of the Casino’s net return is directed towards the advancement of Finnish welfare work as part of RAY’s funding of social and health sector organizations and Finnish war veterans.

This attractive oasis of games and entertainment in located in the heart of the capital city and has an extensive range of games including 300 slot machines and 25 table games, all operated by a professional personnel of 200 employees.

4 YEARS of EXCELLENCE. 4 years of CASINO INSIDE

 By Insider

„4 YEARS of EXCELLENCE or 4 years of CASINO INSIDE” might as well be a pleonasm. No, our trumpeters are not dead, as they say, but neither should we be embarrassed that we are proud of what we have accomplished during that time.

In 2010, when we started this project, our magazine come up with a new spirit on the gambling market and it has managed in a very short time to bring within our industry a way of communication rarely tested thus far, one that speaks seriously, applied, from the inside, about a field that in fact offers fun, joy and excitement.

Within the pages of Casino Inside you had the opportunity to speak openly about yourselves, your company and your products. Here you found the new business opportunities and new partners with whom to collaborate, new information, or simply inspiration. You’ve found yourselves in the concept offered by Casino Inside.

For 2 years, The ReUnion of Gambling Professionals offers you great events within the gaming industry, place of meeting and debate between the authorities of the State, with the role of regulating and legislating, and you, the actors of the industry.

The package we put at your disposal is completed by our websites, led by casinoinside.ro, who have always offered news, articles or exclusive videos, and this has completed your need for information.

During these four years we felt how together with us, the Romanian gambling market is progressing in communication and image. We were was always among the first in our mission to inform the public about the positive things brought by this area in our lives, the fact that thousands of people are working within this industry, that the firms of the industry are charged annually with hundreds of millions of Euros in duties and taxes, and the fact that tens of thousands of players became happy due to the prizes you have offered, all these were within the pages of our magazine and in everything that we have communicated to the world.

There are still many things to be done for this area to gain the respect it deserves in the eyes of the people. We all know that our industry is subject to such pressures, sometimes by overtax, which in conjunction with the continuing economic crisis has resulted in the loss of two-thirds of the operators who existed in 2008-2009, and sometimes due to the bomb media pressure created by a mainstream media always in search of the sensational, communicating everything to the public with dramatic tones that negatively affect the Romanians opinion on gambling.

The Casino Inside team will further support the gaming industry in our country, with real and objective communication, by bringing to the fore both positive things and with the reporting of the undesirable events, even if they are isolated.

Continue to Communicate (about yourselves and about what your work) and you will have more to gain than if you choose the easier path, the one where you don’t act, and where you choose not to send your messages, but in this way you will only leave room for others to speak in your name.

If you choose to continue to do so through us, Casino Inside Magazine, then we will thank you and we’ll know that our efforts and dynamism, are not in vain.

We thank you all those who support our presence and our work by any means. Your support means a lot to us.

Happy Birthday, Casino Inside!

Poker Dice, just a look

Text by: Mircea Panait

When we take a break from the poker table, when we want to smile, to relax and have fun at the same time, but doing so still playing poker, then we choose Poker Dice. A table game with poker sent, with some dice and with a lot of excitement, especially if winnings are coming.

 What is Poker Dice?

Poker Dice is played using a special five-sided dice and playing cards ranging from 9 to ACE. The objective of this game is to get Poker hands such as Two Pairs (two pairs), Full House or Straight, by rolling the dice up to 3 times. The less we roll the dice and get big hands the higher will the winnings be.

The betting

We start by selecting the number of rolls that we want to have (between 1 and 3). We must always keep in mind that the shares and the valid hands of the game will alter according to the winnings column. Depending on the casino, some of the prizes are not available if one selects 3 rolls. We will now select the stake using the stake selector and in order to start we choose NEW GAME. We chose to play this game at the prominent British agency Ladbrokes.

The dice is rolled, and then we have the chance to form a first poker hand. We roll it once again by pressing ROLL. If we have choose 2 or 3 rolls and after each roll we have to choose to keep certain dice by clicking on them, this will exclude them from the following list. The objective of this game is to get the best poker hand without rolling the dice. On the last roll any dice on the table are automatically arranged to form the best possible hand and any gain will be automatically added to your game account.

At any point after the first roll, we may collect; one doesn’t necessarily have to use all available rolls (for example, if one has 5 of a kind after the first or the second roll). After having a poker hand you can press COLLECT. You don’t have to arrange the dice in the correct order, this will be done automatically. It is not possible to collect hands without winning. A little bit of theory is always useful before choosing a game or a game table. Even if they are familiar to us, the basic rules and the table with the chances of winning are always helpful, at least for glancing at them once in a while:

                                               Royal Straight                         x 1

                                               Straight                                    x 0,5

                                               Full House                               x 0,25

We are “seated” at the table with a 500U bank and we have begun to play, here is how it went:

We set the stakes at 5 and we have selected 2 rolls, we lost a first round … but in the second we got a four of a kind on the second roll. It is excellent.

We believed that we’ve hit our stride; we raised the stake up to 10U keeping two rolls. This time, on the third hand, we caught a full, after our first roll “served” us two pairs. It could not go any better.

We heartened now, we keep the 10 stake and the two dice rolls. The fourth hand comes with a “served” most exquisite full, and our dilemma is whether to collect our winnings or try to increase it with another roll, maybe we will catch a new for of a kind.

We decided to take the risk, we kept the three pieces and we rolled again and this decision turned out to be more than inspired. In front of our eyes emerged a new WIN while down on the table, the four in a row cards aligned. A quick look on the list showed x 3, meaning three times our winning. We decide to continue for 2-3 hands more. This time, we barely squeezed two Jacks in the first roll. The second roll made good and we had three of a kind. This hand we decided to be cautious and we reduced the stake to 5.

One more step, one more step, extra excitement. We chose to draw three hands. We were already dreaming of more than the four pieces. But once again the hazard decided four in a raw. We said to ourselves that we are lucky.

We try again. An empty hand comes, then another one, after that … surprise. It seems implausible, but the impossible happens: 5 Pieces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We print screen quickly, in order to have something to tell and to declare ourselves the best players of Poker Dice!

Ligue 1 – We hire attackers

Text by: Mircea Panait

Perhaps it has less magnitude than the Premiership, less show than La Liga, less power than the Bundesliga and less passion that the A Series, but it has a bit of everything: super class attackers, extremely wealthy investors, real sincerity and gloomyness at the same time, elegance and refinement. It is the French Ligue 1. The football that came up with Laurent Blanc, Eric Cantona, Thierry Henry and Zinedine Zidane.

A few years ago, betting on French Championship matches were characterized by several particularities, one could easily run into a few very advantageous tipes of bets:

X at the break (general odd 2,00), many matches showed a tie result at break time;

under 2,5 goals/ match, many matches were tight, and the number of goals was low;

X at the end (general odd 3,00), many matches ended with a draw;

– a small number of eliminations (general odd 1,25).

Currently, the French Championship has overcome the period of X and of the small number of goals, they invested heavily in many teams, they contracted valuable attackers like Ibrahimovic, Falcao, etc., which are eager to score and, thus, the number of goals scored in all matches increases. Bets on score keepers have specific particularities, as many bettors are watching carefully the evolution of the score keepers and place their bets of those who: score in any part of the match, score in the first match, score in the last match, score 2 goals per game, etc. We can’t say that we recomend the bet types listed above, but for the connoisseurs who prove themselves to be patienent, courageous and with a good intuition, these bet can be profitable.

This season, Paris Saint-Germain entered the battle as the main favourite team for the title, but it seems that it has some pretty fierce competition coming from the other French teams, who also have some claim to the title. The summer transfer season was exceptional for the French, as in the Premier League from The United Kingdom alone, great amounts had circulated. The League has spent more than 322 million Euros for the transfers made last summer. The two top clubs, PSG and AS Monaco have each spent more than € 100 million.

An interesting topic for discussion in the French Championship is the lack of effectiveness in attack. It seems that this problem (the small number of goals, the bet on less than 2,5 goals scored) persists and it is very troublesome for the French. While PSG and Monaco have super class attackers, other teams are struggling to find decent attackers. Last year, PSG finished with 69 goals scored (best performance of Ligue 1) but, in efficacy, they would occupy the fifth position in the Premier League and A Series or the third position in La Liga or Bundesliga.

Last year it was crowded at the bottom of the classification board, as many teams were relegation candidates: SC Bastia, Evian Thonon Gaillard, Stade de Reims, Sochaux, Ajaccio (Adi Mutu activated here, although he did not play too much), Reims. Many of them will fight desperately to remain in the French top division this year also.

Teams of the top half of the classification board as well as Montpelier and Saint-Etienne come out of the transfers’ period with a relatively weak batch, but it will be interesting to follow their evolution. The matches of these two teams should be avoided by bettors.

Of course, we will see an extremely interesting battle for the European League qualifictaions. Rennes, Lille, Bordeaux, Nisa, all these times will be competing for a place in European League. Nisa and Lille seem to be the teams with the best chances of this group.

The grand teams of the French Championship, the ones with Champions League claims would be Lyon, Monaco, Marseille and PSG. Although it has no less than 7 titles during 2002-2008, Lyon seems to be little behind the other three teams, especially in terms of the investments made, each of the three having great aspirations to the title. The up-to-date classification board appears to confirm our opinion … the only change made so far being the one between Lyon and Lille, the first located somewhere under the top half and the second being just a point away from the leader.

Below, you can find some very interesting statistics for bettors:

MIKE MATUSOW and his „Mouth”

Everyone knows, the mouth of Mike cannot remain silent at the poker table. He talks away and he says nothing. Yada-yada-yada. Uff! For that he was nicknamed “The Mouth” …nevertheless we love and remember him as one of the greatest poker players of all time. Here’s his story.

Known foremost for his animated antics at the table, there’s no doubt Mike is an extremely talented tournament player, holding four WSOP bracelets and having made the final table of the main event on two occasions. His wild personality isn’t just a show for the cameras, and his tendency to take his tournament winnings to the high limit cash games has seen his fortunes fluctuate wildly over the years, and he spent 6 months in jail after being set up and entrapped by an undercover police officer to whom he sold cocaine.

Matusow’s first experience of poker was playing video poker in the Maxim Casino at the age of 18, which he played regularly, to the extent that he suffered from repetitive strain injury in his shoulders and arms. He occasionally stole money from his mother’s purse and at one point attended Gamblers Anonymous meetings.

Matusow took up poker at a young age when a friend introduced him to the game just before the 1990s. The game would soon become more and more serious for him. He took up a job as a poker dealer where he was able to pick up on various strategies and watch others play hand after hand, which helped him greatly. Following dealing, Mike took up the game professionally and never looked back.

Everyone may remember that Scotty Nguyen won the 1998 WSOP Main Event for a cool $1 million. If you watch the footage of the event, you’ll see Mike Matusow rooting Scotty on from the rail. The Mouth paid one-third of Scotty’s satellite buy-in, which he ended up parlaying into an overall victory in the Main Event. For this, Matusow was given a third of Nguyen’s winnings.

One year later, Matusow would win his first bracelet. He followed that up the next year with some more WSOP cashes before making a very deep run at the 2001 Main Event. He placed sixth and earned almost $240,000. In 2002, Matusow won his second bracelet and in 2005 he made another deep run in the Main Event. This time around, he finish was slightly worse when he placed ninth, but it was worth more than four times what he earned in his previous Main Event final table. He took home $1 million. Later that same year, the WSOP Tournament of Champions was held and Matusow won the event for another $1 million. He would eventually win his third bracelet in 2008, cashing multiple other times along the way. Matusow won his fourth bracelet in 2013 in the $5,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo Split 8 or Better tournament, defeating Matthew Ashton heads-up and earning $266,503.
